A dining experience I would remember for a long time just because of how poor it was. My friend was hoping for a Taiwanese lunch and passing by this, we decided to give it a go. Restaurant wasn't as occupied while using self ticketing system for queuing. We were standing aside after grabbing the ticket and we just needed to wait for one table. Customer kept paying and leaving while staff kept calling up 3-4 people tickets. Even those 1-2 customers left, they ignored those seats just to serve tho
My friend was hoping for a Taiwanese lunch and passing by this, we decided to give it a go. Restaurant wasn't as occupied while using self ticketing system for queuing. We were standing aside after grabbing the ticket and we just needed to wait for one table. Customer kept paying and leaving while staff kept calling up 3-4 people tickets. Even those 1-2 customers left, they ignored those seats just to serve those 3-4 people groups.
The whole wait ended up taking more than 30 minutes and I was literally walking towards the staff asking how long it has to take for one table while there were empty seat. Staff gave a surprising look and just asked me to sit wherever. What an attitude without even an apology. Not until a complain, they would have continued ignoring us. They have reserved two 6 people seats for staff dining while for the whole dining, nobody even ate there. Why not just offer those for the waiting customers especially there's a queue out there?
After sitting in, nobody served. Not even a cup of tea. And when I walked out again to ask, they offered scanning the QR code making the orders. What even funny was their lunch menu stopped and now it's afternoon tea sets. No more lunch offer. We ended up ordering our mains in main menu as afternoon tea sets werent even Taiwanese authentic food.
We asked for some tea/water when staff came to serve our food, she ignored. We asked again when our second mains was served, she ignored once again. We just went to grab two cups of tea sitting out, but they were in room temperature.
We ordered the Sichuan Spicy cold noodle with Fried chicken and Beef Tripe and Tendon noodle.
Sichuan spicy cold noodle was incredibly oily and salty. I had to drink a sip on every bite. Noodle was cooked just right. Shredded cucumber and carrots were so dry that for sure sat out long. Marinated boiled egg was overcooked and dry. Fried chicken was savoury and crispy. Fat more than meat which again I could only finish half, just the meat part. Meat was at least moist. Side salad was uneatable, sauce all over the salad while veggies were again dried. Feels like refreshing the vegetables by the sauce.
Beef tripe and tendon noodle was served on a warm side. Could be nicer to serve it hot. Tripe and tendon were okay while noodle was thick and doughy.
Poor service, long wait and average or below average food quality. Just a very bad experience. That's all.
