I visited the flagship Pololi restaurant in Causeway Bay on Saturday with a friend for lunch. It was my first visit to this location having visit Graham Street venue on several occasions. The restaurant is located on Fashion Walk, a short walk from Causeway Bay MTR station. There was no need to reserve and we were immediately seated. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is extensive with many variations of the traditional poke bowl available. I chose a poke bowl with brown rice, tuna, salmon, traditional spicy sauce, almonds, cashews, cucumber, carrot and pomegranate. We waited about 10 minutes for the bowl to arrive. It looked great – a mosaic of colour (see picture)! I enjoy poke and this bowl did not disappoint. The flavour and texture of the fish was great (it tasted fresh). The other components and rice complimented the tuna and salmon. I enjoy the spicy flavours! I had a coke to drink.
The restaurant was quiet, and my friend and I were able to talk without raising our voices. The staff were helpful and attentive. We were in the venue for about an hour, but I felt we could have stayed longer without feeling pressured to leave. This would make a great date venue! I felt it was good value for the volume and taste and I look forward to trying more of the menu on my next visit.
