I had no idea this place opened a month or two ago, Got lucky and stumbled upon it last week. In general, Mexican in HK is poor. I think sourcing quality ingredients is usually the issue... or maybe it is just my particular favorite style (more California than Tex Mex or very traditional/authentic). Or maybe it is the local cooks who simply don't understand what it takes to balance all of the flavors/textures/temperatures.Anyways, I am not a fan of Agave, Carumba, Coyote, Tequila, Mr Taco Tr

Anyways, I am not a fan of Agave, Carumba, Coyote, Tequila, Mr Taco Truck, or Taco Chaca (somethings at each are okay, but never a full meal). Only Brickhouse comes close with their tacos.
Re: Socialto. I only had a quick chorizo taco and chips with guacamole street side. Just seeing chorizo on the menu got me excited (and I wonder if they do a chorizo and eggs for breakfast?). Anyways, the corn tortilla was pretty good with plenty of chorizo (a bit overcooked though). I wish it had more guac, sour cream, cheese, etc to balance out the hefty amount of chorizo in each taco. Net/net, I give it a respectable 7 out of 10.
The chips are deep fried to order, which is a nice change from far too many places in HK using chips that taste like they were made days earlier. The guac was okay too, but perhaps a bit more cilantro would help. The portions of guac and salsa were a bit too small for the amount of chips given.
I actually missed the fact that there was a full restaurant inside until reading another review. I will definitely go back to try more of the menu later. I pray Socialito can satisfy my never ending quest for decent Mexican in HK. Ole'
