📍方荣记Have craved to come to 方荣记 for a very long time but did not have the energy to go to Kowloon City just for it. Finally gave it a try and as a Chiu Chownese, I have to say it hits exactly my childhood memories. I used to hate having satay hotpot as a kid as my father never let me add another ingredients apart from beef and veggies. Coming to 方荣记, brings back all the thick satay broth with loads of peanut butter in it. Absolutely amazing. My father was right. You just need some good beef, vegg

I used to hate having satay hotpot as a kid as my father never let me add another ingredients apart from beef and veggies. Coming to 方荣记, brings back all the thick satay broth with loads of peanut butter in it. Absolutely amazing. My father was right. You just need some good beef, veggie and at most some fried fish skin and a pack of instant noodles to soak up all the nutty goodness!

The satay soup base here is real thick and rich. I love the fried fish skin as it also included some fish bones as well which added a lot of texture. Beef quality was fine but not outstanding.

The bottled coke is an obligatory order for this type of food!
