It felt like I hadn’t had Jap food for the longest time, so when I heard about my fd’s go-to Jap restaurant in Central, a.k.a. Hanagushi, I had to go! We ordered 2 of the most popular dons there, chirashi and Hokkai Don, both of which were so satisfying! Though the price point is above HK$200 each, oh they make sure you go away smiling. I would suggest ordering the chirashi because it’s not only instagrammable but also has the most variety of ingredients. Salmon, uni, ikura, tamago-yaki, you name it.

The Hokkai Don was really good too. It’s more focused on a few types of sashimi, namely, salmon, scallop, uni, and prawn. The sashimi itself were extremely fresh too. They give off a natural sweet and light taste when you bite in. The uni also tasted sweet with flavors of the sea; none of that 💩kind of taste lol.

Remember to book your table ahead of time as lunch period is quite popular for them. Although when I went last time we only called on the same day.
