I've been to a couple of different Santouka franchises; in Hokkaido Japan, Irvine California, and Taipei Taiwan. Hygeine wise, I was kind of surprised at how greasy the floors, tables, and chairs were. It was clearly below par compared to the other Santouka's I've been to. I honestly don't think it would pass a corporate audit; at least not in the shape it was in when I went.
Service wise, there were about 5 employees on the floor (not including in the kitchen) when I was there. Perhaps some of them were on break, but 3 of them were sitting at a table chatting, and were not responding to my, or any of the other customers requests. My waitress also tossed the bowl of ramen in front of me so that some of the soup spilled out onto my jeans; I was not impressed with their level of service to say the least.
Overall, this is by far the worst Santouka I've been to. My experience there was so bad, that it pushed me to register an account onto OpenRice just to write this review. I will not be going back there ever again, suffice to say.
