After couple bakery take away visit at Sour Dough, I finally got a chance to sit in and enjoy their sandwiches. What immediately caught my attention was their seedy Avocado & Tomato. It sounds simple but I can assure it brings a delightful crunch experience. Their seedy crust was toasted perfectly which gave every bite a guaranteed sound of crunch. What immediately caught my attention was their seedy Avocado & Tomato. It sounds simple but I can assure it brings a delightful crunch experience. Their seedy crust was toasted perfectly which gave every bite a guaranteed sound of crunch. Tomatoes were ripe perfectly that their sweetness matched with the creamy avocado. Mashed avocado was mixed with diced onion and you could taste the heavy drizzled lemon juice. The combination of mashed avocado and the tomatoes were luscious. It was simply an art of sandwich. I love it.
Hickory melt was also a surprise. Their shredded chicken was moist with a hint of roasty flavour. Pairing with the maple bacon slices, both balanced out the savouriness which gave a perfect sweet and salty taste. Sandwiching the fresh arugula, it gave your palate a kick of bitterness and earthiness. And it smartly acted a buffer layer to keep the bun crunchy from the moist filling. Ciabatta was again toasted perfectly which I could barely criticise.
I should have asked for extra hojicha Iced hojicha latte with oat milk. As oat milk was on a sweet side with its own unique oat flavour, it felt a bit overpowered the hojicha flavour. Overall, it's still a good drink to serve with the sandwich.
Black amerciano was also a great one. Serving it warm that was crucial to ensure no bitterness from the coffee. Again on a nutty aromatic side. A slide of 70% cacao dark chocolate was served along side to cleanse your palate. Absolutely loving it.
The only flaw I would say is the seating was packed with extra shields between tables left from the Covid social distancing regulations. It gave kind of a congested feeling if not seating near the entrance.
Overall, highly recommended and will visit again for their salad.
