ate there last night, utterly disasterious experience.found the place through internet, thought i was lucky to have found this place as it has been on TV and been reviewed below and its website to have been serving "Royal" good food.first impression: yes the lightings perhaps little stylish, seats black fake-leather but were bit tight in space and room, and air con seems non existance. (Sweet Basil Thai at TsT or CwB feels more spacious given the volume of people)ordered papya salad and tong yum
ate there last night, utterly disasterious experience.
found the place through internet, thought i was lucky to have found this place as it has been on TV and been reviewed below and its website to have been serving "Royal" good food.
first impression: yes the lightings perhaps little stylish, seats black fake-leather but were bit tight in space and room, and air con seems non existance. (Sweet Basil Thai at TsT or CwB feels more spacious given the volume of people)
ordered papya salad and tong yum kong soup: to be fair, soup was ok, bit on the sour side, not hot (spicy enough)
papya salad: looks ok but if you talking about any sort of standards, nothing special.
ordered raw shrimps: was given japanese shrimps (the ones served on sushi) .. tasted absolutely funny, and my companion (a frequent thai traveller and tv show chef's fd) said she was scared to get sick.
ordered fried curry prawns: looks and tasted ok but the batter was too thick and prawns were shrimps, the freshness and presentation could be much more desirable.
ordered fried young vegetable roots: tasted ok but looks so normal and not the standard you expects from the reviews. It could look and feel so much better.
ordered garlic bread: was told 15 mins, it never came after 30 mins while the staffs were happily chatting away.
i paid 4 digits for these but the standard was worst than the local small Thai resturants i usually go to at Jordan or Wanchai.
i told the manager as we left, i was utterly embarrased by the experience (not in an angry manner).
