But no, the fried chix skin was used to substitute your regular gyoza skin! It’s crispy and there was no oily after taste, goes very well with the sauce dip.
Lychee wrapped in Pork RollThe succulent juicy lychee balls blended superbly well with the roasted pork roll. The lychee helps to balance out the greasiness of the pork roll which leaves you with further room for more than one stick!
Homemade minced Chix StickJust looking at the egg yolk and the sauce, one can imagine this dish would go along very well with plain rice. Size of the chix stick is generous and it’s nicely grilled so all the juiciness is still locked inside the stick.
Scallop with Black Truffle Sauce
One of the highlights of this particular Izakaya is that they offer interesting combination for their skewers. The black truffle topping enhances the flavor of the sizable scallops. In short, a great match, enough said.
Ox Tongue Skewer. In my opinion, this is a must order item at any jap izakaya... they have a separate item called the Prime Ox Tongue skewer which is slightly more pricey but was sold out unfortunately. So I had to make do with the ordinary one. Nonetheless, it was grilled to perfection, nice and chewy yet not too hard.
Uni Seafood Fried Rice
And finally it’s time for some staple food. The portion is generous and great for sharing. One thing that I noted is that the fried rice was not too savoury, so the taste of the Uni and Shrimp bits could really stand out. And the plate of golden yellow goodness is very pleasing to the eyes, making it even more appetizing!
