I always enjoy lunch set in these restaurants since I know it is terribly expensive at night whilst I try the most reasonable way - their lunch. And I believe I was criticized *to my point of view* of commenting about the queuing ... anyways, this is my way to have a nice Jap cuisine treat in these standard restaurants.This is my third time to Kosyu. This is my third time to Kosyu. Their lunch set seems to change a bit ... smaller in qty? I cant weigh!
We did not reserve table this time, yet it is surprisingly putting us to fake tatami seats with caring staff kept pouring tea.
We had 2 sets - Toro Taku Don and Hokkai Don.
Both rice serves in wooden bucket, the portion is right to ladies whilst men might crave for more. The side is sth like rice cake that surely not my cup of tea, seems heavy if you eat all. The miso soup is not bad. The ginger is surprisingly fresh and light *at least not in pink color*
Toro Taku Don: the minced tuna flavor is great - fresh, and the minced tuna is even, unique that you can identify it is uniquely from Kosyu. And the little bits if sesame furnishes the bowl too.
Hokkai Don: not exactly, since u can opt for 3 ingredients out of several choices. My love took salmon roe, minced tuna and sea urchin. The 3 surely are gd match and fresh. And the portion is not small!
In the end, they provide us with yuzu sorbet *it was oranges beforehand* . OMG, always great from Japanese import. The yuzu flavor is strong with bits inside. I hope they can make a bigger scoop instead!
There are really too many choices for standard and authentic Jap restaurants in cwb. So it takes a period of time to retreat ...
