Decieded to come here with a few friends for super mondays (buy one get one free entree)I made a reservation for 6 at 7:30. The host was very nice as I need to call a few times to admend my booking and ask about any birthday celebration.I arrived a little pass 7:30. the restaurant wasnt very full, but the atmosphere was very nice. I made a reservation for 6 at 7:30. The host was very nice as I need to call a few times to admend my booking and ask about any birthday celebration.

I arrived a little pass 7:30. the restaurant wasnt very full, but the atmosphere was very nice. Even though the restaurant is small, the lights were dim and we sat at the back where the wines were kept. there was also a little booth at the back. you can also close the curtains too.

With a party of 6 we ordered all of the main course and 2 pastas. In addtion to that, I was craving for the beef tartare and a bottle of wine.

USDA Prime Beef Tartare

The Beef Tartare came with 3 pieces of toast. That wasnt enough for the 6 of us. They should have more toast as the tartare itself was quite big. The Beef Tartare was pretty good. It could have a little more seasoning, but the beef taste was good.

The food didnt come quite as fast as we wanted it to. We waited a bit for the pasta.

We ordered the Spaghettini. It was a signiture dish. and it was not disappointing. We ordered the full size for both pastas. The taste was really good. I didn't even know that they used chinese XO sauce. it wasnt spicy, but it does add a special touch to the dish. The prawn was also very fresh. would recommend this dish.

Another pasta that we ordered was the Agnolotti. This is like a short rib dumpling. The sauce was a little creamy. But I would prefer to add a little mushroom to the sauce to give it a little extra touch. I did find the short ribs to be a little salty. However, it was still good. the pasta was the perfect thickness and texture.

I would deifnitely come back for more pastas. Again, it took a little longer for the other main dishes to arrive. about 15-20 mins.

Pan Roasted Iberico Pork

The pork was tender and juicy. there was a little bit of fat, however it didnt taste fattening at all. not a bad choice.

Fennel and Citrus Spiced White Cod

the cod was another delicious dish. The fish was cooked perfectly. It was seasoned well and the form with fish egg was perfect.

Grilled USDA Prime Ribeye

the prime ribeye is another signuture dish. however, im not a big fan of it. they cooked it perfectly to medium. the beef was tender, but it wasnt very juicy. the bone marrow is very salty for my taste. this dish isnt really my favourite.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Lastly, was the lamb. I am not a fan of lamb. they did cook it to our tasting medium. the lamb was tender, but it does have the distinctive lamb taste which i dont know.

The dishes werent as filling as expected so we ordered 4 more desserts.

Affagao. it comes with milk tea gelato and a peanut butter cookie. the gelato was something different. as the mix with espesso was perfect. I didn't think the peanut butter cookie went well with this combo. but the cookie did have a strong peanut butter taste.

the tiramisu wasnt anything special. a typical tiramisu, not amazing not bad. there wanst must coffee taste or lady fingers. wouldnt recommend that.

we also ordered a sweet corn vanilla pudding. not knowing what to expect. it was quite interesting. it was more like a corn pudding. it was a little different in a good way. kind of salty kinda of sweet. if you like to try new things, i would say give this a try. it also came with vanilla gelato.

With regards to our birthday celebrate. they offered to do a birthday plating when we order desserts. which was nice.

overall, a very pleasant and memorable dinner not to mention great deal with our super mondays card. i would definietly return.

Trattoria Doppio Zero was recommended to godbro XO by one of his clients, who praised one of its pasta dishes. Knowing that I love pasta, XO asked me to check out the restaurant with him last Monday. Trattoria Doppio Zero was recommended to godbro XO by one of his clients, who praised one of its pasta dishes. Knowing that I love pasta, XO asked me to check out the restaurant with him last Monday.

I was a bit excited when XO asked me to join him since I've read quite a few reviews on OpenRice praising the pasta dishes at Trattoria Doppio Zero, and how they use the finest Italian flour to make their pasta!

Trattoria Doppio Zero is located on the basement level of an office buidling in Sheung Wan, and once you walk in, you can see that they have a proper bar area in the front of the restaurant. If you have to wait for a table at the restaurant, you can take a seat in the bar area and have a drink while you're waiting!

The walls of the restaurant have been decorated with colorful paintings.

The restaurant is very spacious, and the tables are not crammed close to each other.

There are a few tables in the back of the restaurant for those who wish to have more privacy.

There's a wine storage area in the back of the restaurant, but I couldn't tell if the temperature and humidity are regulated.

There's a promotion at the restaurant for their new summer drinks, and if you upload a picture of your drink on to Facebook, you can buy one get one free. XO and I both took advantage of the promotion and each ordered a summer cocktail!

Blue Royal: This is definitely a cooling refreshing drink for the summer! The sweetness of the lychee was balanced with the acidity of the lemon and lime. With the sweetness of the lychee, the blue curacao wasn't overpowering the drink, and the drink was really delicious!

The server told us that they use high quality French and Japanese flour to make their bread, so the bread tastes so good that only olive oil is needed as a dip.

As soon as the bread was placed on our table, the beautiful aroma of the bread caught our noses! The bread tasted as good as it smelled, and a quick dip in the olive oil was all it needed!

We decided to start with the signature small bites.

Truffled Fried Oyster

Truffled Fried Oyster: The oyster was lightly battered and quick-fried, so it was crispy on the outside and perfectly plump and juicy on the inside. The black truffle aioli and the creamed spinach added another layer to the flavor profile.

This oyster was a tasty luxurious small bite!

Smoked Duck Liver Ravioli

Smoked Duck Liver Ravioli: The ravioli shell was quite thin and al dente, and it was filled with duck liver and Chinese liver sausage, where the combination was very flavorful.

The filling would have been very heavy, but the pickled beetroot foam has a light acidity to balance out the heaviness of the filling.

We were trying to choose a salad, and the server recommended that we try their new beetroot salad that's not even on the menu yet!

Beetroot Salad: The salad consisted of three kinds of beetroot, baby spinach, and a yogurt dressing. The raw candy stripe beetroot had a nice crispy texture, the yellow beetroot had its natural fresh flavor enhanced by the sea salt, and the pickled red beetroot had a strong natural sweetness. The yogurt dressing was delightful with the baby spinach and beetroot combination!

After the appetizer courses, we moved on to the two pastas.

Agnolotti: The shell of the agnolotti was just as thin as the ravioli and equally al dente. The short rib and bone marrow filling was absolutely delectable!

The bread crumbs added a nice crunch to the dish!

Spaghettini: This was the pasta dish that was highly recommended by XO's client, and it didn't disappoint at all! The XO sauce gave the pasta a nice heat factor, and usually, I'm not a big fan of fusion dishes, but this was really good!

The highlight of the dish though was the Carabineros red prawn! The server told us that the chef cooks the prawn until it's slightly raw in the middle, which gives it a perfect crunchy texture! This already spooked my interest since chefs always overcook prawns and lobsters in Hong Kong, and this prawn was cooked just the way I like it! I absolutely loved the crunchy texture of the red prawn!

Since XO and I only ordered half portions of the pasta dishes, we decided to split the Pan Roasted Iberico Pork.

Pan Roasted Iberico Pork: As soon as I cut into the pork chop I said to XO, "It's perfectly pink on the inside!" The pork chop was cooked just right, so it was perfectly tender and juicy!

After I took the first bite, the pork chop was so tasty that I immediately asked the server if I could order it to go (I've been bragging to my mom about how tasty Iberico pork chops are, and I promised her that I'd bring one home for her to try!) The server made sure that I could reheat the pork chop properly at home before he would let me order it to go, and the chef even came out to teach me how to reheat the pork chop in the oven!

Pan Roasted Iberico Pork

Not only was the Iberico pork chop delicious, the cannellini beans on the side were just as tasty! They had a silky creamy texture and were seasoned beautifully with the garlic aioli!

A delicious Italian dinner isn't complete without dessert! While XO went for his favorite affogato, I went with a favorite of mine, the tiramisu!

This tiramisu is a fusion of the classic and the new! They follow a classic recipe for the tiramisu and top it with chocolate popping candies!

Tiramisu: The chocolate popping candies tickled my mouth! The tiramisu itself had a light airy texture from the whipped egg whites! It wasn't heavy at all, since this is a classic recipe where the tiramisu isn't weighed down with any cream! The spongy lady fingers layer on the bottom was moist but not soggy and didn't have an overwhelming alcohol flavor!

This tiramisu was the perfect "lift me up" (yes, this is a pun on the actual definition of tiramisu

) after the scrumptious meal!

Trattoria Doppio Zero definitely lives up to its name serving delicious pastas dishes! They serve dishes that have a good balance of authenticity and innovation! I can't wait to return to Trattoria Doppio Zero to try more of their innovations in the future!

而呢個蟹膏意粉Vi既家人就麻麻地, 蟹膏味道好濃烈, 面頭亦有好多蟹子, 但意粉入面就只有洋蔥, 值得一提係自家製既意粉口感幾彈牙~

main course 要左呢款鱈魚配馬介休魚蓉, 鱈魚煎得好香, 肉質好嫩滑, 魚皮微脆, 好好味, 而下面既馬介休魚蓉亦好有驚喜, 辣辣地咁, 好好食!

最後呢個Grilled USDA Prime Ribeye就係Vi選擇呢間餐廳既原因, 聽過好多人話好味, 終於有機會一試, 要左medium rare, 見到ribeye紅嫩既顏色已經知道呢個熟度岩岩好, 而好少地方會有得配埋牛骨髓, 牛骨髓好滑溜, 好似jelly咁, 而ribeye係好嫩好好味!!好濃郁既牛味配埋上面既牛油, 真係好好食, 4個人share好唔夠侯><><><!!果然係呢度既招牌

甜品點左tiramisu, 又係有驚喜, 面頭加左爆炸糖, 令口感好特別, 而tiramisu做得好軟滑creamy, 係出色既tiramisu~

整體今餐食得好開心, 份ribeye令人回味, 已經好想再去食過~
