I had a friend visit from Canada and she loves Hello Kitty. Obviously, I had to take her here. Originally I had planned to take her here on Monday when I had a day off but the place is closed on Mondays. So, we decided to try Saturday after I got off work.We arrived at 4:30 PM and there was a very short line. I noticed things have changed since I was here in June. We arrived at 4:30 PM and there was a very short line. I noticed things have changed since I was here in June. They now have a long bench for people to sit while waiting along with a fan. They also have a cover on top so it's not too sunny for those waiting. Improvements! We waited about 15 minutes and were given a table.
The menu had changed in that it's now a piece of laminated paper as opposed to last time where it was on a wooden clipboard. The menu also now stated that there was minimal charge of $80 per person and a 60 minute time limit for eating.
My friend ordered an ice peach tea and I ordered an ice cappuccino. Ice cappuccino came with a cute sprinkle of Hello Kitty's famous bow. Coffee was ok. Not great but expected. I still think the smoothie I had last time was much better. My friend said the ice peach tea was not overly sweet and quite good.
I ordered the all day breakfast. It included sausages, bacon, salad, fried egg, slice of tomato, smoked salad, baked beans and buttered toast. Buttered toast had an imprint of Hello Kitty on it. It was also nice and buttery. The fried egg had the shape of Hello Kitty's face as well. Egg was ok. Nothing special. The entire thing was ok though the salad had no salad dressing at all, making it feel like I was a rabbit eating.
My friend ordered the Secret Garden burger. I noticed a lot of changes since last I visited when I ordered it. They now made the egg shaped like Hello Kitty's face. The amount of fries have now increased in portion. The ketchup was now in a bigger cup as well.
We shared a cake and chose the red apple cake. This was actually really good. The cake was moist and tasty. It wasn't overly sweet.
Inside the cake was what you would usually find in apple pie. I love apple pie so I thought this cake was delicious.
Hello Kitty Cafe did make improvements which is good. The food is still ok not spectacular. The cake is still the best thing about this place. Only critic is that 60 minutes is a bit short for the time limit to dine here as food was slow coming out in the first place. Not enough time to dine. Would return again if queue is not long and only for the cake and smoothies.
