I just made this account because I wanted to write a review for this restaurant. Me and my fiancé finished badminton today around Lei King Wan and decided to try this restaurant, without any expectations. I just made this account because I wanted to write a review for this restaurant. Me and my fiancé finished badminton today around Lei King Wan and decided to try this restaurant, without any expectations. We were both pleasantly surprised by our first visit, of many others to come. We ordered a sashimi rice, a fish soup udon and some tempura. The sashimi - sea urchin, salmon, tuna, and sweet shrimps, etc. - was fresh and premium. Dressed with a drizzle of soy sauce and a chopstick pinch of wasabi, it was a wonderful harmony. The udon, tender but also aptly chewy, was bathed in a rich fish soup. My fiancé really enjoyed it. The shrimp tempura was the icing on the cake. A warm and crunchy golden crust enveloped a perfectly cooked big shrimp. We left the restaurant satisfied. Although it wasn't exactly a frugal meal, anyone who's looking for authentic Japanese cuisine using the best ingredients should come to Ajijiman.

One of my coworkers live around here and she suggested this place for lunch when we couldn't decide where to go. At her sugguestion, we followed her lead and ordered the chopped toro rice with uni on top. My first impression when my don arrived is that it looked like the uni was laying on top of cherry blossom. I have tried their other cooked dishes but this trumps them all and I would come back just for this.

So disappointed with this restaurant. Quality and service are becoming worse and worse. A simple bowl of ramen now takes 45 mins to be served and there is always some salty paste at the bottom that hasnt been mixed properly. First time we went, they overcharged us by almost $300, fortunately we spotted it on the bill. Staff has bad attitude as well and tried to blame their inefficiencies / oversight on the fact that it is "peak hours". Really not recommended.

With a change of staff, a bit of teething problem is expected. So we gave it some time. After all we had been regular customers when the nice staff were here. Unfortunately even after 2 months the service and food remain very disappointing. It's often a long wait for the food to arrive. Moreover main course will come before starter. Another geat night at Ajijiman!!! Good food, good company and amazingly fresh sashimi!!!All the food we had is pictured below, need I say more???Fresh and sweet sashimi platter, great prawns and toro!!!!!Sushi sushi sushi Prawn soup.Robata skewers.Dessert was the orange sorbet, very tangy and nice to cleanse the pallette after all the food.

My mom was here for holidays and I decided to take her here for a nice Japanese dinner. She wasn't disappointed as the food was fresh, staff was friendly and very good atmosphere except for the kids at the next table, but that is an ENTIRELY different story.

Now on to the food: We ordered some sashimi and it came on a platter with oysters, salmon belly, botan ebi, hamachi, toro, mirugai and aji. It was very fresh you could taste the sweetness of the shrimp and oysters. The fish was so fat and the portions were very generous.We only ordered a few pieces of sushi, chopped scallop, negitoro and something else that came on a plate by itself, I can't remember the name in English but in Chinese it's Semi-grilled "Joor How Yu" sushi (translation = left mouth fish) After all the cold food I needed something to warm my stomach so we asked the kitchen to prepare a prawn miso with the heads of the botan ebi we had in our sashimi platter. Very deep in flavor and very good for texture with the prawn head and tofu, very "homey" soup.Feeling quite full after the soup, we opted for some robata. My favorite here is the beef tongue, I know it sounds gross but you MUST TRY it. It's cut to the perfect size so every piece is still very juicy and seasoned perfectly. The other snack we ordered was chicken gristle, it's a funny kind of texture and quite nice. Good with some cold sake and edamame on a quiet get together with some friends.All in all, VERY happy with our dinner and the staff was very nice and polite. Will definitely come again soon!!!!

Made reservation for dinner so no wait time. Overall, good food, good service but a little pricy. Spent 1,094 HKD for four people and only ordered 2 sapporo beers at 38 each. We had a good location in the back corner that was quiet and they had these red shades that make it very private. When looking at the menu, some of the prices were very expensive so we tried ordering some food that was about average priced. The beef hot-pot was good and also the eel fried rice.

吃完主食,當然又到甜魔時間,女友已急不及待點了這個半殼椰子雪糕,祇見細小的椰子殼內填滿了椰子味雪粒,雖口感不夠軟滑,但椰子味十分濃厚,我倆也甚為喜愛。

其實這店價錢遠比食物質素高,相信就算是我中了六合彩頭獎也應該不會再來。

最值得一提這間的服務非常不錯喔!!對於我來說is very important!!!到了最後我們只要了2個訂食,但他們仍今了雪糕予我們所有人!!而我吃了一個網燒牛排大約半成熟配日本珍珠米 大約二百多元牛排不硬very soft 較為日本風味!!!日本珍珠米軟硬亦恰到好處而旁人要了一個烏don軟硬也是恰到好處真的不錯喔湯底是非常濃,絕對入味!!!!!這裡的銀雪魚亦好像新鮮似的非常鮮甜總括而言這間野非常不錯喔當然一分價錢一分貨啦!!!

Ajijiman used to be my favouite restaurant as there are in fact few good restaurants in Quarry Bay. However, recently there have been changes to not only the staff but also the menu, leaving only the expensive items. There are now only set dinners from $200 up for you to choose. I don't really mind the price but the choice of food is also limited. If you don't eat shashimi the only options left for you is steak. No more cooked pork or chicken or fish. The tast though is not bad but I must say that with the old staff all gone, the warm atmosphere has also gone and little remains to retain the old customers

According to my colleague (who's a regular here), this restaurant is divided into several portions - there was a portion where normal walk-in (i.e. not regular) customers would sit, which according to colleague is slightly noise, and there is a smaller, cosier portion where the regulars sit. That part of the restaurant is divided up into little cubes, accommodating tables of 4 or 6, and allows for slightly more privacy. However, there was another group of colleagues sitting one cube away from us, and we could hear their laughter and conversations quite clearly.

Back to the food.

Two of us (my colleague and I) ordered chirashi with miso soup, one ordered sashimi salad with soft shell crab and udon and one ordered tempura rice set.

The chirashi was just enough for someone like me; however I cannot imagine it filling up most decent guys' hungry stomachs though! That said, the slices of raw fish and scallop was fresh and very appealing. The sashimi salad with soft shell crab and udon looked small in proportion as well, and tempura rice set looked plentiful and seems to be more capable at filling up hungry men more.

Service - again, I say I could be biased - was immaculate. Staff were friendly and we basically ordered from the waitress's reciting of the set lunch menu. I only read through the rest of the lunch menu after I placed my order as I wanted to find out what else was on the menu.

Price wise, a bit steep for lunch in my opinion. After all, this is not Central or TST, but it's a very nice respite from the 20-something dollar lunches of mass production. A nice, relaxing lunchtime with great company in a Japanese joint serving quality food... Apart from the fact that I didn't drink any alcohol, I can't complain!
