Friday, 12:30pm. The tiny interior of Wing Kei is packed, wall to wall. The alleyway, filled with rickety chairs and folding tables, is bursting at the seams. Orders taken while in the queue, and ushered to a table as soon as the group before shows a sign of being close to done. The beef options are consistent, if not inspiring - the tendon the real standout, and black stomach (if you come early enough) but the star of the show here is pork.
Pork stomach here is as good as anywhere - a texture and flavour bomb. Intensines, both large and small are clean, fresh and with a hint of crunch. Pork balls seem very popular, but I haven’t been able to pull myself away from the offal.
Menu is in English and Chinese, but that is the extent of bilingual ability here FYI. In spite of that, staff are exceptionally friendly. One of the best in the neighbourhood for sure.
