This traditional Chinese restaurant is squirreled away upstairs in a non-descript building in Wan Chai. They boast secret, traditional recipes passed down generations for premium, authentic Chinese cuisine.
I was excited to taste their food as they say they insist on only the highest quality and freshest ingredients. Indeed, I was so impressed by the soft, juicy texture of the meat that's only possible when the meat is fresh.
The signature, Sweet and Sour pork, was delightfully crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside with a surprisingly delicate flavor that was brilliantly balanced.
I also greatly enjoyed the pork liver. I'm usually a fan of liver, but this was particularly surprising as they had washed the meat in such a way that the usual lingering scent was eliminated but the distinct liver texture was preserved. It was beautifully flavoured with pungent ginger and crunchy spring onions.
Finally, the deep fried squid was fresh, with crispy, tasty batter and soft, but subtley aldente and flavorful squid.
The service was also fantastic and made me feel like an honoured guest. Overall, I'd greatly recommend this restaurant for a delicious, authenticly Cantonese meal.
