Since we were not hungry, we gave up the afternoon tea buffet and went for afternoon tea set here. Recommended by their staffs, we got two afternoon tea sets (HK$48 each) that includes a pastry and a hot beverage.Mango Tart: The mango tart was a good work with quite a lot of details (i.e., three layers with light whipped cream inside the mango dome). Mango Tart: The mango tart was a good work with quite a lot of details (i.e., three layers with light whipped cream inside the mango dome). The mango slides were not sour but not 'too sweet'. The bottom of the tart has excellent crispy cookie texture.
Shatin Apple Pie: This is this hotel's signature item. The pastry chef has excellent skill to control the sweetness because it was neither "too sweet" nor "too sour". The skin of this pie was relatively thick and "足料". It taste like what we had in the State and my hometown Vancouver, except the sweetness.
Cappacinno & Latte: They only serve hot coffee or tea for afternoon tea set. Both tasted not bad but they were not strong in favor and taste. It may not a good choice for those who are seeking for beverage to awake themselve.
Crossiant (HK$15 each): The crossiant is absolutely a surprise . It was toasted and the skin was so crispy and the flake was so thin and crispy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
p.s.
1. My mom thought that was not a good idea to have hot coffee on a 32 degree celsiu, even in a temperature conditioned room. However, I think hot coffee always the buddy of pastry and I have no objection.
2. If the crossiant serves with jam, that would be much better.
