Beetroot, carrot and endive salad, on a bed of white bean humus, topped with filo pastry. Broke up the pastry, mixed everything together. Interesting texture. Could do with more beetroot tho.
Seared ox tongue. A bit dry.
Main: Japanese pork loin, sliced. Served with raw chestnut and apple purée. A bit too much fat on the pork for me but meat tasted good. Shiitake mushroom sausage on the side.
Surprise off-the-menu main: sea bass in bouillabaisse sauce. Skin was very crispy, perfect doneness. PickyEater loved the sauce.
PickyEater got talking with the manager telling him that we loved the beef sandwich and would go there for lunch few times a week cos it was so good. Manager replied that the beef sandwich was no longer on the lunch menu, but we could call in advance and they would make it for us.
Dessert was chestnut tart. Not a fan of chestnut so didn’t order.
In summary: pleasant dinner. Good mix of textures and flavors. Recommended.
