Friends organized a private birthday dinner at d'Oliva, booked weeks ahead. The restaurant is located in a quiet area, away from crowds. Hence we had a quiet, lovely dinner. We had starters consisted of cured meat, smoked salmon, fois gras with bread/ crackers. Main dishes were: (1) yummylicious roasted codfish (mashed codfish and potato) with salad (2) roastbeef with mashed potatoes and salad- I only had a few well done pieces and they were still juicy and tender (3) duck breast (confit de canard) - Nicely cooked, topped with orange based sauce. For drinks, we had sangria, spanish red wine as well as champagne and freshly squeezed orange juice. For dessert, we pre-ordered the tiramisu which, in my opinion, was heavenly done. Christina, the cook/owner who was entertaining and funny as hell, even baked a chocolate birthday cake for the birthday girl+boy. Summary, definitely will come here again to try out the rest of the menu

I work in sheung wan and always find it hard to find good western food for lunch: it feels like I eat always the same pasta with the same "standard" taste. I've now been a few time to d'Oliva and it is the only place I know around where you feel like you are eating something that was cooked with care.The owner claims the food taste like you grandma was cooking it and actually that's a good description of the place. The food is cooked by the spanish owner and it is truly delicious!PROS:- Delicious food- Real spanish & portuguese receipes- Different dishes each dayCONS:- Not enough seating- I wish they had a few more options for the set lunch, like soup/salad, coffee/tea...

最近,我走到上環蘇杭街行一趟,看看有沒有什麼新店! 發現一間廣告招牌公司隔離,開了一間新餐廳! 驟眼看似是一間 Cafe,連招牌也未有,相信是新開不久吧! 店外的 Menu 寫上西班牙文的食物名稱,看不懂西班牙文的我只好走入店子,看食物實物更實際!原來這間西班牙小店,由一對西班牙籍夫婦開設! 當我踏進店子,西班牙籍老闆即時遞上外賣單張給我,並介紹小店是一間西班牙自家製小食店! 這時候,我才知店名叫 d' Oliva Spanish Takeaway & Tapas! 店子地方雖然細小!但是,五臟俱全! 店內只有 2 張吧枱,椅子不多!簡約風格中卻滲出一點西班牙品味!我個人頗為喜歡其樽形燈飾! 還好奇問西班牙籍老闆娘,燈飾是否來自西班牙?她回答:是西班牙風格!望入去開放式廚房,也見整潔企理夠衛生! 這裡供應的西班牙美食全由西班牙籍老闆娘每天早上新鮮弄製! 而且,每天不同款式!可帶給食客新鮮感! 包括:不少得的西班牙小食 Tapas、肉類、沙律、主菜、甜品、飲品...等。Menu 有英文及西班牙文對照,美中不足卻是沒有註明價錢,令人失去幫襯意欲!Today's menu 上星期六經過,順便了解一下店子供應什麼食物;同時,有食客建議老闆在店外的 Menu 加上英文,可以吸引更多食客幫襯!今天星期三幫襯,店方已作出有關改善並加上英文,讓人看得明白!起初,我見到陳列櫃中的沙律幾健康吸引,並問老闆娘沙律是什麼價錢?原來是 lunch set,包括:沙律、主菜及指定飲品。熱情的老闆娘還即席給我試一點沙律,合口味才買!真是太好嘞! 選擇好了才付款!她拿出一個雪白色的紙袋,盛載紙 lunch box 及飲品,還有餐具及餐紙,方便又衛生! Spanish Fried Squids (lunch set $78)lunch set 包括:Salad、Spanish Fried Squids & Iced Tealunch box 盛載 Salad、Spanish Potato Salad 及主菜 Spanish Fried Squids Salad沙律裝得滿滿的!份量頗多! 選用橄欖油,清新健康!沙律混合蕃茄、火箭菜、紫椰菜、翠玉瓜...等,色澤鮮明!新鮮爽脆! 特別一提,第一次生食翠玉瓜,入口清爽!跟青瓜口感差不多,水份卻不及青瓜!Spanish Potato Salad原來西班牙式的薯仔沙律,只是用上薯仔及雜豆!實在很容易弄啊! 淡淡的沙律醬配合粉腍的薯仔粒,食落 creamy 又飽肚,簡單而美味,令人一試愛上! Spanish Fried Squids其實!我見到這些西班牙式炸魷魚,總令我想起酒樓食過的炸魷魚鬚!用上新鮮魷魚加粉漿炸至外層金黃,放涼了,依然幾香脆可口! 充滿酥香!惹味非常!魷魚肉質肥美!爽脆鮮嫩!炸漿外層更能鎖住肉汁,仍帶有鮮美肉汁!食完一件又一件,食不停口! 老實說,味道跟炸魷魚鬚幾相似!由於,魷魚含高膽固醇關係,都是少食為妙!正所謂:少吃多滋味,多吃壞肚皮!Iced Tea一杯凍茶?!心想會否好難飲呢?啜起來清涼透心!茶味帶有檸檬的果酸,即是凍檸茶! 確實是一杯少甜的凍檸茶!我也可以接受!價錢是不是貴,真是見仁見智!我覺得以份量來說是貴了一點!
