Avoid this place. I got a terrible food poisoning after eating there and despite contacting them twice, they never did anything to follow up. I never heard back from them. It’s overpriced too.
Last week (Friday) I was in your restaurant (Isola) with a friend for lunch. I had the minestrone soup and a bottle of water.
Already on my way home I could tell my tummy didn’t feel right. I got home and decided to lie down. From there on, things got progressively worse and I ended up spending the afternoon and evening in the bathroom with horrible gastroenteritis.
After several hours, I could finally move to my bed, which was when I decided to call your restaurant to let you know what was happening to me and to warn you that I had these problems and that I had had the soup.
I spoke to Arjun, who was polite enough and who told me to go to the doctor. I was in no state to leave the vicinity of the bathroom and so I couldn’t undertake any trip to any doctor at night and had to stay put at home. Arjun then asked me what he could do and I told him I would leave my contact details and to follow up with me.
After the phone call, my illness progressed and I was violently throwing up for most of the evening, leaving me thoroughly dehydrated and having lost 3 kg in fluids.
As you know it is now Friday, which means that this incident and my request to follow up occurred a week ago today.
I am surprised to see that a restaurant of the quality of Isola should not care to follow up, particularly when specifically asked to do so.
I understand that it will be very difficult to prove or definitely link my illness to the 200 hkd soup I had at your restaurant, but apart from that, I would have expected a place of the calibre that Isola has, to have procedures in place to follow up on their customers, if only it was to see how I was recovering.
I have now again made you aware of the situation, and I hope and trust that this time you will follow up.
