見到太古廣場新開左一間日本餐廳,叫做KOKOMI,類似主打鐵板燒.落單時服務員一手拎住SAMSUNG手機係度玩,另外個腦就記低我既ORDER,如果佢唔係用手機落單既話,我只能夠話依家年代既年輕人就係咁好工作態度.(如果你真係用SAMSUNG落單我就怪錯你了)我就叫左個$218套餐,有齊前菜沙律湯,仲有大蝦同埋西冷卷,炒飯,算係幾抵食!但係由落單到齊哂食物都只係10分鐘,唔知道係廚師功力強大,定係一早整定呢.味道其實不錯,除左熱度不足外,食物乾爽,調味足,大蝦係真大蝦,西冷包住蔥,好香口.炒飯粒粒分明不油膩!整體服務好不親切,但食物還不差的.最後埋單先知又係美心開既....

雖然係金鐘番工,但都唔知新開左呢間野,好彩老闆請食飯,托福可以一試。成間餐廳好寬倘,檯同檯之間距離合理,而且雖然有teppanyaki station,但無乜油煙。 但係始終lunch時間,特別有唔少外藉人士,都幾嘈。我地每人叫左個飯/烏冬,仲有沙律,串燒等等。 有d set會跟幾件魚生定壽司。 我自己唔太食生野,叫左個鰻魚飯。 雖然係好簡單既野,但要啱自己口味既都難揾。 等左一陣上左個麵豉湯,但係個飯成四五個字之後先到,好彩有沙律雞翼牛舌食住先。 不過雞翼牛舌都好好食,調味啱啱好。 等左好耐,我個飯終於到,結果十分鐘就食晒,因為係好好好好食啊! 塊鰻魚唔細,肥肥地燒得好香。 有時鰻魚d骨係又大又硬到要lur番出黎,但呢度完全唔會。 醬汁唔會太多太濃蓋過魚味,再灑上山椒粉,真係每一啖都食得好開心。 公司附近仲有遠東四季同有馬,不過以鰻魚飯黎講呢間贏晒,可能啱我口味。係食到超飽既時候,老闆仲叫左香蕉船天婦羅share食。 兩球雪糕平平無其,大粒d就好d, 但個香蕉炸得好好食,層粉薄得黎好脆,平時唔食香蕉副產品既我都忍唔住食多啖。番到公司推介埋俾其他同事,過左個禮拜我地又去食多次鰻魚飯,

My boyfriend took me to Kokomi for Valentine's Day. In essence, if you're looking to pay marked-up prices for average Japanese food, accompanied by terrible service at a restaurant that lacks proper business ethics, then Kokomi is definitely the place for you.As a starting note, to be completely objective, the food was alright. My boyfriend took me to Kokomi for Valentine's Day. In essence, if you're looking to pay marked-up prices for average Japanese food, accompanied by terrible service at a restaurant that lacks proper business ethics, then Kokomi is definitely the place for you.

As a starting note, to be completely objective, the food was alright. Some were a hit, others were a complete miss.

The Garlic Beef Fried Rice was the best dish of the night. The beef was tender, rice was fluffy. Unfortunately, the garlic was slightly overpowering. I had garlick-y taste lignering on my palatte for the rest of the evening.
Beef Udon

The Beef Udon was alright, average at best. Nothing out of the ordinary that you can't get anywhere else. The udon was well cooked, al dente, which I like. The broth, however, was uremarkable. The egg, you can tell from the photo, was not perfectly cooked. Some of the egg yolk had started to become hard-boiled.

By far the worst dish of the night, and perhaps one of the worst udon dishes I've had in my life. Pork Cutlet Udon in Cold Sesame Sauce: Bite after bite, the udon and pork cutlet were soaked with the sour sesame sauce which was too sour for my liking. I don't know what they put in it.... Vinegar, perhaps? Whatever it was, I couldn't taste any sesame, just vinegar. I did not enjoy this at all, we couldn't even force ourselves to finish half the bowl.

Only thing that was worse than the food, was the service. As a start, the set menu the restaurant promised would be available when my boyfriend made the reservation was not available upon arrival. 

The manager stopped by our table to apologize for the miscommunication and offered to give us additional items FOC for the mistake. He then took our order personally.... and thereafter never spoke to us again for the rest of the evening. It might be my imagination, but he did not even come within a 10 ft radius of our table. You would think that the only restaurant manager on that shift should not avoid a good 30% of the restaurant, but he avoided where we were sitting like we were the plague. 

I left the restaurant with a lingering sense of displeasure. What the manager did to us was an extremely unethical tactic to pacify us and have us dine at the restaurant when it was the restaurant who clearly made a mistake. A sincere apology would have sufficed. Blatantly lying to our faces to get our business is a pretty low blow for a supposed "upscale" Japanese restaurant.

On that note, the ambience and decor were definitely on point. The restaurant was one of the most spacious I have been to in Hong Kong. The downside was that it was impossible to get the attention of any of the servers. On average it took almost 15-20 minutes for us to get them to serve us, which I do not appreciate considering the service charge. I would definitely not return to Kokomi again.

Can’t believe I have been blogging for 2.5 years already! Believe it or not I started to write just because it is just a way for me to polish my chinese, but now I decided to do a bit of both (chinese & english). Getting to know a lot of friends probably become the biggest achievement within this 2.5 years. Can’t remember how long we have been trying to schedule a time to do some catch up outside of work but tonight we are finally together to do some catch up.Luckily enough we are having dinner

Luckily enough we are having dinner at Kokomi at Pacific Place , replacing the Roca which was right next to Thai Basil, 10 minutes from my office and all I have to do is to show up and enjoy my dinner.

Mirin Grilled Dried Fish (Fugu) ($78) was the appetiser of the meal, a bit of chewy texture and go so well with mayo, guess it will be a better match if we have a beer or some sake. Too bad I gotta work the next day so I dare not to consume any alcohol.

Seared Salmon ($48/2pcs) and Sweet Shrimp ($38/2pcs) Sushi was recommend by the Manager. a good balance texture and favour of the rice goes so well with the fresh ingredients. Not as good as a Sushi specialist, but good enough especially if you take a look at the price.

Freshness plays the most important part of Sashimi, we had Salmon, Scallop , YellowTail (Hamachi ) and Chu Toro in the platter tonight. I don’t think I would use words to tell you how it taste like, how if I tell you “thumbs up”? This sashimi platter definitely make me a happy kid tonight.

Crab meat avocado & tofu salad with spicy dressing ($78) may not be anything surprising, but replacing the sesame dressing with someone refreshing is not a bad idea, at least I got a better appetite after having this dish!

Baked oyster with wasabi sauce ($58/2pcs) was a surprise for me, I eat spicy food but mustard and wasabi isn’t my thing so I would just say no if I knew it has wasabi favour in the first place. But my frd said it taste kinda sweet so I grab one on my plate to try it out. This oyster has a mild wasabi favour with a creamy texture , I won’t say I like it but I won’t say no if I got offered another one. Exceptional case towards my tolerance on wasabi items.I

The dried shrimp and vegetable tempura flitter ($55) is a very filling item. It was crispy enough yet they are not dried out, is one of friend’s favourite , so we have a legitimate reason to order it right?

A beef shabu shabu ($238) was served before our sweet treat, the borth is sightly lighter then a sukiyaki pot , with beef vegetables noodle and mushroom is there it is just not likely to go wrong! IT would taste better if there is a bit of more fat on the beef slices though.

Apparently the dessert here cannot be missed! Like I said I am not the one who ordered so I just ate anything they arranged.

Tempura Banana Boat ($58) was the first one we had, the banana is lightly battered! it does go well with the ice cream and chocolate sauce, eat it quick otherwise the ice-cream will melt!

The 2nd one is the Green Tea Panna Cotta, Red Bean Cream Sauce and Sesame Ice-cream ($58), Pretty much they just combined the 3 japanese traditional sweet favour in different state of matter! A smart combination and good contrast in terms of its color, and it also comes with a thin crispy almond slice to give a better texture.

My favourite dessert of the night was the Okinawa Coconut pudding with pineapple ice cream ($58), it reminded me of the Pineapple and coconut favour of haagen dazs that I had when I was back in the states. Making use of the sweetness of the young coconut and plus the pudding, and using pineapple ice-cream to balance up the favour, it was no doubt a very good dessert and perfect for summer!

Turns out the bill was so cheap which is less than $2000 for 1 group of 4 and its value for money consider it locates in PP. They also do teppanyaki as well and got lunch sets available, will go check this place out again very soon. Thanks a lot for the great company my dear friends, never get tired of talking to you girls.

炒飯賣相令人垂涎,配了蔥花、紅蘿蔔粒和蛋花,顏色吸引。飯粒炒得金黃色,每一顆珍珠米圓圓的,很有光澤,入口軟棉。加入了配料,增加口感,亦令味道層層遞增。

先送上兩件壽司-油甘魚及三文魚壽司。它們倆活像藝術品一樣,精雕細琢,外型看來很細緻。油甘魚呈淡淡的粉紅色,泛著油光,肉質細滑濃郁,入口無渣,是極高的享受。三文魚脂肪分佈平均,紋理排列極為整齊,油脂豐腴,香滑無比,令人齒頰留香。

接著送上雜錦烏冬窩,用鐡窩盛載,溫度高,蒸氣不停上升。先試一下湯底,清淡中帶微甘,清徹而不膩。食物豐富,一隻鮮雞蛋煎得半熟,蛋黃仍是流心狀態。天婦羅炸蝦的炸粉又薄又脆,但不帶半點油膩。蝦肉幼身彈牙,新鮮嫰滑。牛肉煮得半熟,仍然呈現粉紅色,浸在熱湯泡一泡,就變得七成熟,肉質腍身帶鮮甜味。配料還有大量嫰綠爽脆的波菜,吸收了湯底的精華。烏冬麵粉味不重,反而有點麥汁的香氣,口感軟腍而滑溜,每吃一口都幾乎可以「𠽌𠽌聲」的,而且份量極多,感到很飽滿。

餐具都很有和風色彩,和裝修風格很一致。服務員親切友善,笑容可掬,還會詢問我們對食物的意見。

整體而言,各方面都幾乎沒有瑕疵。
