英國星級名廚開的餐廳,趁著陽光普照的星期天去吃個brunch。環境不錯 裝修得摩登而又令人舒服得想坐久一點apple juice店内選擇很少 而我們選了 burger 和 egg benedictburger的麵包超好吃 烤得香噴噴 還帶點甜香 牛肉肉質飽滿 配菜和醬汁都不錯egg benedict略爲遜色 整個太乾 肉也是超大一片而且很乾 好heavy

It's always smart to take the name of a famous chef and its association with a restuarant with a pinch of salt. The food here is incredibly average and left all of us very much disappointed.  

The Food

We were a party of four so we ordered four different dishes from the menu. We went with English Breakfast, Beef Burger and Chips, Fish and Chips and Shepherd's pie. 

The English Breakfast was a Hong Kong high of around 248 dollars plus a drink. I'm not sure why the London House set their dish at at least 80 dollars more than the next English Breakfast but I was keen to found out. How would they reinvent something which basically is about the ingredients and just requires hearty portions? Well they just placed it on a fine looking board and made it look fancy. The food was not of high quality, the toast was too hard, tomatoes too soggy, the eggs were not seasoned, the beans sauceless, bacon burnt. Pretty much every component of this dish did not taste good.

The Beef Burger and Chips followed the theme of average. The burger was rather tasteless and did not have much beef taste. The chips were ok.

The Fish and Chips and the Shepherd's pie were the better dishes but still at a pricey HKD198.  I was told the fish was quite good and although the pie looked small it was very filling.

The Environment/Ambience
Looks like a UK pub but a little classier. TST East is always good for a drink and sharing platters. 

The Service

Nothing wrong with the service. Nothing exceptional.

The Verdict

Do not waste your money. I get the idea of bringing London to Hong Kong but why are you bringing the Central London prices as well? HK$248 for an English Breakfast? Crazy. The prices are unreasonable and just for the looks, the content is nothing special and I cannot bring myself to say it was even tasty.  Avoid.

I had a great dinner for 2 at the London House.We ordered Mac n cheese, Beef burger, Bangs and mash, and shepherds pie.Mac and cheese portion was nice and small. perfect appetizer size. I had a great dinner for 2 at the London House.

We ordered Mac n cheese, Beef burger, Bangs and mash, and shepherds pie.

Mac and cheese portion was nice and small. perfect appetizer size. Strong cheddar cheese taste and beautifully seasoned. carries a rich hot cheesy that melts in your mouth.

Beef burger had a stunning beef burger, was brown on the outside and pink on the inside, a perfect medium rare burger. the beef was well seasoned, and the sauce of the burger was delicious. it came along with wedges with a nice spicy powder that was freshly made.

Bangs and mash was 3 German sausage and a mash potatoes. the 3 German sausages were not that exciting, it tasted a little dull. but the mash potato went very well with the onion gravy and was very smooth.

Shepherds pie was a small plate and traditionally came with minced lamb. it was so delicious it really brought the flavor to the shepherds pie.

Not so relaxing Sunday, got a lecture to catch and only half an hour tops to grab a bite. Indeed pub food never fails to beat the time when you needs it. Food came so fast it's unbelievable. We were done in 20 minutes. Is it a good or bad thing? Depends. For us, not so bad an idea.Food is below averagemelette - cheese was not melted, is it too much to ask for? The rosti that comes with was obviously fried with overused recycled oil that gave it an overwhelming oily smell and way too salty.Eggs B

Not so relaxing Sunday, got a lecture to catch and only half an hour tops to grab a bite. 

Indeed pub food never fails to beat the time when you needs it. Food came so fast it's unbelievable. We were done in 20 minutes. Is it a good or bad thing? Depends. For us, not so bad an idea.

Food is below average:
Omelette - cheese was not melted, is it too much to ask for? The rosti that comes with was obviously fried with overused recycled oil that gave it an overwhelming oily smell and way too salty.

Eggs Benedict - served on an over toasted piece of rye bread instead of the traditional English muffin, bad start. The sole of all eggs benedicts is the hollandaise sauce was ridiculously sour and salty. The piece of gammon ham was over fried yielding very hard edges. What English fare is this? Disaster.

Latte - not even fresh milk is used and milk was overdone thus too hot. Terrible.

雖然唔係正宗risotto咁飯會"生骨", 但味道都唔錯~菇嘅份量都o岩o岩好.

總括黎講,因為Gordon Ramsay呢個名而對食物期望過高, 如果唔抱著呢個心態, 食物質素, 餐廳環境開掦舒適, 約三五知己傾計食飯飲酒睇波都不失為一個好好嘅選擇~

So I , my son and one of my friend went for brunch at this so called Ramsay's new place in Hong Kong.We did not have any reservation still we managed to get a table on 1st floor. The hostess offered us the sofa since my son was just 4 years old. We did not have any reservation still we managed to get a table on 1st floor. The hostess offered us the sofa since my son was just 4 years old. Very nice of her i would say since i heard London house does only reservations on 1st floor.

Anyway We ordered fish n chips and the sunday roast. kids menu for my son. First of all the food took ages.  We waited long time to get our food. When the food arrive. The sunday roast was just disgusting. The meet was raw. Bloody. Yuckk !!!! my chips from fish n chips were so dry and over cooked. So as my sons from his fish n chips main from kids menu. Like seriously we waited so long to try this kind of food. 

Very dissatisfied with the food. One thing that made me have a good feeling about this place was the attitude of the middle eastern hostess on that floor. She was super nice especially to my son. She provided him with cryons and coloring book. Chit chatted with us while we waited long long time for our food. Tried to give us extra attention since she could sense we were unhappy. apologized a couple times as well.
My son dropped his ice cream on floor. She got him a new one.very nice young lady. Very professional. 

But the food ruined it all..

多士真係幾好食 雞翼同blue cheese產生化學作用 Baked cheese 實在太多芝士食唔曬加落多士度真係幾正 但係真係要趁熱食羊肉批 係全晚最好食嘅舊地道英國口味可惜 羊肉有少少鞋Fish and chips 做唔到細緻粗食而已Berries crumble 太酸正式英國口味

we are sitting upstairs, I guess there are 3waitress plus 2 managers.Bad service except one western manager (it's a man) the other manager, always long face. I didn't know it's her skin colour or what. She is obviously not happy. The way she talked was super rude. Anyway....Food: acceptable. Fish and chips - I am guessing they are using frozen😟 no favour at all Lamb pie: ok!! GoodI didn't order food cos I was late for dinner. But I am actually feeling funny of the salad. Rocket and cheese salad:

 sigh...  Just more crumbles and put a bit more sugar that will be perfect. Too sour.. 

Oh well. It's a pub food, didn't put much expectation.

宅女向來政治意識不算太強, 但有感近年香港人對港英時代的越來越濃厚. 無論是文化活動, 特別節日, 推廣甚至是餐廳, 精品等等, 只要是有著英倫味道的, 都總會特別受歡迎. 而來自英國的星級名廚Gordon Ramsay繼去年底在中環開設的Bread Street Kitchen & Bar為其打開了一個不錯的頭炮後, 未夠一年又再接再勵, 於尖沙咀開設其飲食王國旗下的另一家餐廳London House. 記得去年試過Bread Street Kitchen & Bar時印象不錯, 所以這次一收到消息, 宅女馬上就預訂了個周末來試試水準!常跟妹妹在計劃英國之旅的時候, 就說一定要找個機會嘗嘗Gordon Ramsay飲食王國內的幾家店, 而London House亦是宅女曾做過調查的一家餐廳. 得知英國的London House予人感覺都是帶點高級感. 侍應畢挺的西裝, 賣相精緻的菜色, 一副fine dining的樣子. 最初宅女還以為來到香港的分店也會大同小異, 還擔心要不要穿得正式一點去好呢? 但當親身來到餐廳門口時, 差點以為自己去錯了餐廳, 皆因兩者風格相差得太利害了!Lon

London House這家香港分店就是位於尖東麼地道, 面對著海旁, 左右旁邊盡是帶露天酒吧的餐廳. 不過一看門口大大個綠色配金色的招牌, 英倫風味甚重, 再看看整家餐廳的環境, 地面非常開揚的露天酒吧區, 中央一個巨型電視播放著球賽, 完全就是一家英式小酒吧! 看到這裡, 之前還在擔心穿什麼的問題應該一掃而空了~

因為早在個多星期前巳透過官網訂了位, 所以一來到無需等位, 由職員領我們直上二樓. 低頭一看, 原來整條樓梯都漆上了英國國旗, 上到二樓這裡亦是一分為二, 室內部份裝潢帶點隨性, 紅磚牆上畫上不少代表著英國的標誌及景點等, 不知怎的看在眼內竟然覺得溫暖又親切. 而除了室內的地方, 還有個露台區, 如果天氣涼一點時, 坐在這裡吹著微風用餐別有一番情意.

我們中午來到, 吃的是BRUNCH, 所以選擇不算好多. 先有些英式早餐及奄列等, 亦有幾款頭盤, 價錢平均都是百多元一份, 而主菜方面就有七款選擇, 包括必有的炸魚薯條, 漢堡, 扒類等等, 由百多元到三百多不等, 如果以尖東這區來說的話, 收費仍算合理.

其實這裡有不少COCKTAILS頗吸引的, 但宅女一早起來沒什麼下肚, 還不太想喝酒精, 所以便先點一杯非酒精的COCKTAILS過一過癮吧. 這杯fruit cooler顧明思義就是內裡混了什果汁, 再加上青檸跟梳打調製而成, 小小一杯, 喝起來微微帶酸, 果味濃郁, 甜度適中, 沒什麼特別, 不過冰塊頗多, 這樣的份量喝上幾口巳差不多喝完.

因為妹妹想吃麵包, 不過一問之下原來這裡中午是沒有準備麵包給客人的. 本想問問能不能另外加錢要, 但這時女侍應人很好主動說可以安排拿點麵包給我們, 真的太好了~ 雖然沒有另外收費, 但上來的賣相一點也不馬虎, 用了個小木板盛著幾片法包跟牛油, 麵包吃起來外脆內軟熟, 牛油沒什麼特別不過軟硬度適中. 唯一希望改善的話, 就是供應的牛油真的不用那麼大杯的, 因為小小幾片麵包其實只用了不到十分一的量, 我想也應該不會番用, 所以有點太浪費了.

頭盤還是想先來個沙律開開胃比較好. 點了個基本的雞肉凱撒沙律. 上來的賣相有點普通, 不過最搶鏡的當然是放在頂端那隻半熟蛋了. 旁邊亦有伴著大大塊的雞肉, 巴馬臣芝士跟原條煙肉. 但宅女覺得吃凱撒沙律, 其實最重要的還是底下的生菜. 看看生菜片全部都被沙律汁緊緊的包裹著, 而且非常均勻, 醬汁濃稠得來不會有太膩的感覺, 而菜葉口感爽脆, 加上還有點鯷魚碎作點綴, 吃起來咸咸香香的. 而煙肉香脆不油膩, 巴馬臣芝士下的份量亦亳不吝嗇. 原來這樣加起來吃是有點重口味的.

但比較失望的是雞肉, 雖然件頭十分大塊, 但肉厚得來頗鞋口, 亦較乾. 個人覺得如果雞肉可以做得小片一點吃起來口感會比較好吧.

最近很喜愛吃他他類的食物, 這裡雖然沒有牛肉他他, 不過就有個吞拿魚他他供應. 用上的食材就是吞拿魚加上醃青瓜, 以芝麻汁做底, 吞拿魚入口軟棉鮮甜, 配著那個芝麻汁竟然有點酸酸甜甜的中式感覺, 整個菜色味道有點中西合壁, 不過吃起來十分對味, 味道濃香得來不會太過厚重, 不知不覺間令人更開胃.

記得曾聽過友人說在Bread Street Kitchen & Bar有吃過他們的牧羊人批後稱讚不巳, 一直也很想再去多一次吃, 這次剛才來到這裡, 雖然不是同一家餐廳, 但看到是傳統牧羊人 , 就二話不說點來試試. 上來的份量出奇的小, 小鐵鍋真的只有兩部IPHONE6加起來的大小, 不過都知道牧羊人批是比較滯的, 所以這個份量我們兩個人分來當主菜吃就剛剛好.

看看牧羊人批表面那層薯蓉烘得非常金黃, 頂端還加了不少巴馬臣芝士跟麵包糠, 一啖入口, 薯蓉既軟棉亦夠滑身, 加上芝士的襯托下, 味道非常香; 而底下的盡是啖啖混入洋蔥, 紅蘿蔔及西芹等的免治羊肉餡, 非常足料, 羊肉吃起來帶著濃郁的羊羶味, 整個味道濃而不膩, 對於喜愛羊肉的宅女跟妹妹面對著這個便愛不釋手, 熱呼呼的一口接一口.

最後兩人當然成功把這個牧羊人批清光光, 但想不到原來這樣不太大的份量兩個人吃完就剛剛好, 不然一個女生吃的話就有點太滯了.

本來因為怕只點一份牧羊人批會不夠吃, 所以事前便點多了一個配菜, 而且還是帶點重口味的芝士通心粉. 幸好份量不會太多, 但上來一碗只見滿滿的芝士忌廉, 底下的通心粉煮得軟硬度適中, 芝士忌廉做得十分濃稠亦夠CREAMY, 奶味香濃, 妹妹一邊說著十分邪惡, 但另一邊又一啖接一啖的吃個不停.

記得上次去Bread Street Kitchen & Bar時有吃過英式的拖肥布丁, 雖然甜度頗高, 但吃得很過癮. 所以這次看到這裡的甜品上都有這個拖肥布丁供應時, 不作他選, 就點這個也讓妹妹過一下癮. 上來的一件布丁鋪上了一層厚厚的焦糖漿, 看起來竟有點像我們的中菜東坡肉一樣! 吃時把布丁配上旁邊一小口的奶油, 入口焦糖味非常香濃, 布丁帶點微暖而且內裡無論是軟硬或是滋潤度均是剛剛好, 而奶油亦令整個布丁口感更添豐厚. 整體甜度當然仍是非常高, 不過如果喜愛焦糖或濃味甜品的朋友, 這個應該可以滿足到你吧.

埋單不便宜, 加一後兩個人午餐就吃了七百多元....不過其實都算幾飽的.

食物方面水準大致覺得不錯, 當然又未到非常好吃的地步, 當中仍有些瑕疵可以改進.

如果不是掛著Gordon Ramsay這個名字, 以這個價錢來說有這樣的水準其實巳可以接受了.

老實說, 我想仍是會有不少人, 有可能因為Gordon Ramsay這個名字而不自覺的會把期望提升了, 所以個人覺得, 如果抱著這個心態, 一心想來品嘗如電視中那樣的Gordon Ramsay佳餚就應該會失望而回; 如果純是想找家地點易找, 氣氛輕鬆又不錯的英式小餐館吃頓飯, 或想飲杯酒看看球賽聊聊天的話, 這裡就絕對可以考慮的.

I've had fish and chips in London on multiple ocassion and the one at London House does not even come close. Fries were over fried, the fish was too bland and soaked in literal, the pea puree` and tartar sauce didn't help at all give any taste. Also ordered omlette (the easiest way to measure the cook's calibre), it was not well done (even though i requested so).Overall just OK but nothing that stands out. Just cashing on the name of "Gordon Ramsay" and the ambience etc.

i love yorkshire pudding and my husband likes english sausages. Toad in the hole is a perfect starter to have. it's a bit smaller than we have expected, but we think the size is just right, we were just too greedy. the sausage was great, the yorkie base was soaked with the red wine sauce. It tasted very nice. great food

we ordered medium rare and it was cooked to medium rare which was perfect. The peppercorn sauce was good, but it was.really not enough. we did ask for some more.

when it was served, we were kind of shocked how plain the presentation was. Or in the other word, it was a simple presenation.Foodwise, the salmon had a very crispy skin and not greasy. it was cooked just as my liking. not overcooked, it was cooked on the outside and slightly soft in the inside. The celeriac and apple remoulade on the side was the highlight of the dish. it was a bit sour which was what we needed to balance the the salmon. i just wish it came with more of it!

We wanted to order dessert, but we felt a bit too full to have sticky toffee pudding and eton mess. so we gave it a miss. but then the manager was soooooooo nice to offer me a raspberry sorbet and a monkey shoulder blended malt scotch whisky to my husband.

my husband is a whisky lover, among the list of scotch whisky, the monkey shoulder was one of those he had not tried before. This offer did make him very happy and he liked it. And for me, Raspberry sorbet is my one of my favourite sorbets. so i was also very happy.

afterall, regardless the slight disappointment or difference from my expectation of how London House looks like, the food is still very good. The quality of the food is very consistant too! However, the menu is too similar to the BSK in LKF hotel. As we live on the HK Island, i cant see the reason why i should come here again instead of BSK. I can see the difference from BSK apart from the name and deco. Considering the location of the restaurant and the decoration, between BSK and london house, i would pick BSK for sure.

Visited this place with some family members so was able to try a number of dishes for lunch. Had suspicions that it was going to be expensive pub fare, whether the food was able to match their price was the question.We were seated in the upstairs dining area. Visited this place with some family members so was able to try a number of dishes for lunch. Had suspicions that it was going to be expensive pub fare, whether the food was able to match their price was the question.

We were seated in the upstairs dining area. Whilst the decor had an authentic British feel, it was somewhat spoilt by the strong buffeting from the air conditioning...maybe they wanted to recreate the sub zero temperature of the british winter.

Service was decent enough, with attention being prompt.

The barbeque wings with blue cheese were quite small in size, flavour was relatively strong and the meat a little on the dry side, but generally quite tasty. At $108, this is a pretty expensive starter.

Shepherds pie was served in a small metal tin, something like a baking dish. The mashed potato was light and creamy and the lamb mince was full of flavour, something that lamb fans will enjoy.

Fish & chips...fish was quite fishy-tasting, not your regular haddock/cod from a british fishery. The batter was disappointingly thick and heavy. Chips were crispy on the outside and smooth/creamy on the inside. Served with tartar sauce and mushed peas. The mushed peas were not to my liking, seemed more like creamed garden peas rather than mushed marrowfat peas. Not being fried in dripping, the dish loses its authenticity in flavour.

Having tried these dishes, hopes were not high for the rest of the order.

Bangers & mash. Mash was acceptable, fairly smooth and creamy. The highlight was the onion gravy, which was very flavoursome. The sausages were something else. They're the gourmet type sausage, lean at maybe around 80% meat and seasoned with herbs. Salt was not spared with these bangers, I have had cured meats with less salt content.

The mac & cheese side dish, thats what I thought I ordered. What I actually got was something more akin to mac & cream sauce. No hint of cheese. Mac was al dente, but in a bland white sauce, there was zero appeal.

Eggs Benedict was predictably mini in size, having experienced the previous dishes. The toast on which the eggs were placed was rather thin, like a slice of bread from a regular loaf. Toast was slightly burnt, eggs were fairly well done but what should be the highlight of this dish, the hollandaise, was greasy and had a fair amount of the sourness from the vinegar present.

The final dish was the biggest shock of all. The Sunday Roast, all $328 of it. For 2 people sharing, it said. Think there were 4 slices of beef, a large yorkshire pudding and some veg. I have had my fair share of roast beef, and this really is memorable for all the wrong reasons. Beef was medium but the issue here was one side of the beef looked like it was seared and quite greasy. The Yorkshire was light. Too light. And lacking in any flavour.

We didn't try any desserts as we had ordered too many mains.

Quite a negative impression, but then again I can only imagine what kind of remarks these dishes would get if presented on Masterchef...Very disappointing.

因為Gordon嘅名氣,朋友亦試過蘭桂芳店,所以今晚特意去試London House。本身我自己對英國美食都好愛,所以對佢嘅食物都有一定嘅要求。London House舖位前身都係英國餐廳,我亦去試過,對比之下,個fish and chips就只係ok,French fries只係普通嘅薯條,唔係粗果隻,但味道都ok,條魚都炸得鬆脆。Traditional Spheres Pie, 我覺得係最好味,雖則味有d濃同咸,但碎羊肉好入味,夾埋個面(應該係薯溶我估),鐵板上,熱辣辣,唔錯。Banger and mash係因為見呢度好多人都post,而最終就叫,薯溶好入味,但可能個人對香腸一般,所以覺得無咩特別。最後係甜品,一個red berry crumble 同Irish cream,兩者各有特色,前者如果鍾意berry,咁實鍾意,因為係好幾種係入面,我就麻麻。相反,我係朱古力愛好者,見到Irish cream有chocolate係入面,當然試下,厚厚一舊大cream,下面有朱古力蛋糕仔,而食到底係有酒(但唔知咩酒),所以唔錯。餐牌選擇相對較少,試過一次之後未必再去,但我對蘭桂芳店就有興趣!

去年在蘭桂坊開設Bread Street Kitchen & Bar,很爆,尖東開主打英國菜的London House,用餐氣氛比Bread Street Kitchen & Bar相對輕鬆。


今天晚上來到這裏品嚐了好幾款他們的招牌菜式包括水牛雞翼和英式烤牛肉。

未能吃火焰漢堡和威靈頓牛扒,感覺實在不妙(笑)

水牛雞翼的味道,對不起,我實在不能評價,因為我從小到大也極討厭吃雞翼,但是由於拍照時,雞翼看上去真的非常美味,而且有很多不同的人都喜歡吃雞翼,所以我禁不住要跟雞翼拍攝一張可愛漂亮的照片。

英式烤牛肉外表烤得香脆,裏面的牛肉,鎖緊肉汁,雖然咀嚼的時候還是要帶點勁,但是仍然不失為一道烹調得尚算不錯的牛肉。英式烤牛肉,慢烤過,肋眼牛排以慢烤方式呈現,將牛肉以低溫慢慢烘烤,將甜美肉汁保留在牛肉中。

這天晚上也還算高興,可能因為下晝的時候做了一件一直以來都很想做的事情。


我很不喜歡Pending的感覺,一直很想去一個地方研究,調查當地居民的生活文化和習性,繼而想想他們到底在做什麼。

雖然這樣表面皮毛地看了一會兒,但是仍然能夠感受到當地的風土人情。

我經常都會告訴我的soulmate好好思索什麼叫做堅尼地城。

放棄有時候也是一種緣份。

因為我也是一個「堅尼地」

現在我,選擇自己愛自己,重新出發,做好自己。

我太懶惰玩不贏心理遊戲。

Tried the crispy whitebait which was very crispy but perhaps a little overdone for the coating but the fish inside was silky.
Anyway, I need to come again to experience the full English Pub grub experience by eating more mains.
