Starter Platter ($128) 

The restaurant makes their own homemade assorted prawn cakes, fish cakes, and spring rolls (1 vegetarian and 1 prawn). The size is bigger than usual and the it is more bouncy and flavourful with more herbs than usual as well! So tasty!

Som Tam: Green Papaya Salad ($85) 


Shredded green papaya, peanuts, string beans, cherry tomatoes, dried shrimp with chili, garlic, palm sugar and lime dressing. The crunchiness from the green papaya, string beans and the peanuts are absolutely delightful, along with all other sweet and savoury ingredients, making it such a good salad to enjoy during summer time.

Tom Yum Goong Soup ($93) 


Spicy hot and sour soup with prawns flavoured with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, coriander and a squeeze of fresh lime juice before serving. If you put lime juice while cooking, it is going to turn the soup into bitter. This is our favourite soup of all time and Na Thai had made it right! The spiciness, sweetness and the sourness was just right. It was excitingly hot to drink but you just wouldn't stop drinking it!

Poo Pad Phohng Ga Ree: Stir-fried Crab Curry ($378)

The crab was cooked with turmeric, ginger, onion, spring onion, parsley, garlic and chili. The taste is strong and savoury, we think it would go well with any rice or noodle.

Pad Thai ($105)

Thai style's stir-fried rice noodle with prawns, crushed peanuts and bean sprouts enlivened with tamarind and palm sugar. Traditional pad thai should be quite sweet and Na Thai had once again done that right. The taste is just well-balanced just like those ones in Thailand! We will come back for more!

Khao Ob Ma Phrao: Coconut Fried Rice ($108) 


This is our first time having coconut fried rice, the fried rice was cooked with with shredded coconut, prawns, raisin and mixed beans. It's quite milky in terms of the texture because they have put coconut milk to cook it, while the rice is sweet and savory from the raisin. It was interestingly addictive and we particularly liked the coconut milk on top which makes it sort of gooey. We are missing this dish already!

Young Coconut ($45) 

We can't stop our coconut fever craving so we have to have a young coconut to hydrate ourselves during summer time.

We would recommend you to come to this restaurant because you can taste the Thailand. Since all the chefs are from Thailand, they know how to season the dishes right, the staffs are friend, and the price is reasonable too!

I've eaten here twice. The first time, the dish that left the deepest impression on me was the green papaya salad. It was fresh, tangy, spicy, and really flavorful. All the rest of the meal was also terrific, but this dish was a stand-out, all the more so because it is so commonly found. It made me realize that all the others I had tasted in Hong Kong were just wrong, including my former favorite pseudo-Thai place, Thai Basil.

This last time, the green papaya salad was lack-luster. I was really disappointed, and when the hostess came to ask me how it was, I told her honestly how I felt. She said she would tell the chef. I feared they had lost their former chef, but she assured me they had not.

We were very happy to find that ALL the rest of the meal was fabulous! The Gai Yang (Grilled Chicken), was fresh and really tasty. The fried fish chunks were fresh and perfectly crispy but not heavy, with a tangy, sweet, hot sauce just like I remember tasting in Thailand. Also amazing was the fried rice with shrimp paste, full of flavor! Maybe we should have gotten steamed white rice for the green curry dish, which was also terrific, but we were already stuffed. But happily stuffed!

There are only several tables in a small, tastefully decorated environment, seems to be a place for regulars, but it's also great for a romantic dinner for two.

The hostess and waitress were both extremely nice and attentive. The hostess spoke English very well, while the waitress was struggling (she told me she had just arrived in Hong Kong), but her innocent smile made me hope that harsh city life would not wipe that away.

We all walked out smiling ourselves. Definitely a place to come back to! Hopefully, the chef will return to his outstanding green papaya salad, and it will be perfect!

When arriving the place was quite busy, but luckily there was still a table for two left. The very friendly and attentive staff showed us to our table. What really impressived me was the great atmosphere, as we all know that Hong Kong's restaurants often lack this feature. We started by ordering some satay. It was cooked to perfection with the right amount of spices and sauce. As a main course we shared a green curry, as well as some of the spice noodles they have (I usually order both dishes every time when I go to a Thai restaurant). Both dishes were by far the best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand. The taste of both were outstanding and authentic and it felt just as like I were dining in Thailand. We also had some German wine which was also amazing. I have been back a couple of times to try their other dishes and never got disappointed.

The Assorted Platter came next and none of them were good. The best thing from the platter was the shrimp cakes but they only tasted OK, nothing special. The shrimp spring rolls were terrible. There was little taste apart from the celery. Fish cakes were awful and was overpowered by the leeks. Vegetable spring rolls were mediocre. Rating: 2/5

Then we were recommended by our server to order extra shrimp spring rolls becase the Platter wouldn't be enough for our party so my table ended up ordering an extra shrimp spring rolls dish. Big mistake. Rating: 0/5

Pad Thai came and it was only average. Forgettable dish. Rating: 2.5/5

Pomelo salad is beloved in our circle but Na Thai's was simply slopped together. The pomelo was sour. There was not enough dressing and toppings. The taste was simply bland. Very disappointing. Rating: 0/5

Salted kale was ordered as the vegetable dish but the vegetables we got were old and not fresh. The dish was supposed to come with Chinese anchovies but that was completely missing. Rating: 0/5

We finished with the grilled chicken and at $175, we were expecting half a chicken at least but instead we got a quarter of a chicken on a bed of lettuce laid on a small plate. The chicken itself was not that fresh and had some raw chicken taste to it and we only got some chicken wings and other chicken bits and pieces. Rating: 0/5

Service: Attentive but they had some major issues. First the good part. They refilled our waters without us asking, fixed a loose table screw and were generally doing their best to make sure everything went smoothly. Unfortunately, due to the lackluster food, they kept asking us how our dinner was. When we said we did not like the kale, they only patronized us and offered no promise of any future improvement. At the end of our meal, they saw that we did not finish our chicken and asked us what we thought. When we told them that our chicken had raw taste to it, they just said the chef probably did not put enough spices in it.

Overall, the portions were small and poorly plated. We felt cheated by the grilled chicken dish and the small portions of the other dishes. This restaurant was worth the high rating 2 years ago but is now another victim of those good restaurants that are going downhill.

I had met the owner, Mr. Yin, at a different restaurant I had dined at and he called the manager of Na Thai to make a reservation for me. I went on a Sunday for lunch and the manager was waiting for me, addressed me by my name. Service was friendly, food was very tasty. Tasty Thai fooed. Very cozy and good service. Although I want veggie food which is not in their menu but they were able to customize for me.  I surely will come back and try non-veggie in other day...

We tried 5 dishes in all:

1. Chicken soup in Coconut milk - wonderfully aromatic, good mixture of herbs and spices. Even the chicken pieces seemed to be well cooked and didn't seem to have been added in the last bit of the preparation. The aftertaste was the best thing about this soup. It left the palette refreshed and worked really well as an appetizer. None of the acidic aftertaste that is sometimes associated with Thai food with artificial flavoring.

2. Vegetarian Spring rolls - nothing special, but the chilli dip accompanying this was pretty good

3. Green Curry with Chicken + Rice - This was easily the highlight of the meal with a a very refreshing and spicy green curry, hands down the best we have ever had in HK. Reminded the wife of the green curry we had at the top-rated restaurant in Koh Samui.

4. Pad Thai with Chicken - Another well executed dish, but not super different from what is available elsewhere in HK.

5. Mix Satay (Chicken + Pork) - we ordered this seperate from the business lunch set. The meat was a little bland and the wife thought the peanut sauce lacked flavor (she is very particular about this and thought that multiple other restaurants in HK do better satay).

Overall, we thought that it was a very pleasant meal and we would definitely be back for the soups and the Green curry.

Spending per head was about 160 HKD.
題外話/補充資料: Definitely get reservations if going for dinner/on weekends.

今日試下NaThai嘅lunch set。 $88一個lunch唔算平,不過上次食晚餐覺得佢幾正宗,所以叫埋同事去試佢嘅lunch。今日我點左冬陰公蝦湯(足湯料,唔係好辣,蝦好彈牙)青咖喱牛肉飯(重椰奶味,唔夠香料,普普通通)感覺上餐廳無上次食甘正宗,餐廳員工也換了新面孔。

Sunday is a day to relax and spend quality time with family and friends. I don’t want to join the crowd in busy districts such as CWB and TST. That’s the reason why I picked this Thai restaurant. Sunday is a day to relax and spend quality time with family and friends. I don’t want to join the crowd in busy districts such as CWB and TST. That’s the reason why I picked this Thai restaurant. It’s a local neighborhood restaurant situated on a small street in Happy Valley. I booked a table for 6:30 pm. The restaurant was only half-full at the time we entered. The restaurant staff was friendly. He let us to choose our own table.

Once we were seated, the staff gave us the main menu and the drink menu promptly. The number of dishes offered by this restaurant was limited. Never mind the limited choice of dishes, quality was more important. We ordered papaya salad, green curry chicken, pad thai and stir-fried broccoli.

The papaya salad was spicy and refreshing. Green curry chicken was creamy in texture and rich in flavor. It gave not only a nice green curry aroma but also a strong scent of herbs. I am a big fan of Pad Thai. Pad Thai noodles of this restaurant might not be the best in town but my palate was delighted. Little disappointment on the stir-fried broccoli. This dish might need more layers of flavor.

Overall, dishes tasted good. Ingredients used were fresh.

The only drawback is that the tables there were too packed. I had to move the table next to ours in order to get into and out of my chair.

已經系第3次幫襯啦12點幾到;總有好多位~~1點已經爆曬店主就系侍應~汁台,上餐,倒水,收錢全部都系佢搞點~而且佢總系泰國人;只系識講英文~~今次一行五人食左7個野食~3個野飲總有班籣葉包雞

Among the food we ordered, we recommended Catfish and mango salad, prawn and fish cakes, pineapple fried rice, three flavour fish, green curry beef and the Mussaman chicken. The catfish was fresh and crispy; the prawn and fish cakes tasty and tender; the pineapple fresh and juicy, definitely not “recycled”; the fish went well with sweet, sour and spicy flavours, which increased our appetite; and the green and Mussaman curry not too spicy, just as what we requested when the order was taken. My cousin’s husband enjoyed the food very much because he could not find such high quality and authentic Thai food in the States.

It was an excellent dining experience in this little but cozy restaurant and the service was professional and personal. The dishes came one after another and we were not forced to swallow everything in a minute. Since it was cold on that day, my cousin coughed a bit. The restaurant owner gave him a pot of hot lemongrass tea, which, as he recommended, has been an ancient remedy for curing chest congestion, colds and coughs in Thailand. It really worked as it immediately soothed his throat!

Since there are only 24 seats in the restaurant, it is advisable to reserve the table for dinner. If you cannot find a table, you can order the food to be taken away. Besides, the price of set lunch is very reasonable with a variety of choices.
題外話/補充資料: Advise to have table booking in advance especially on Friday and Saturday.

住在跑馬地差不多九年。變遷歷歷在目,老店如金屋、三盞燈和韓國餐廳已變成銀行地產美容。食店在此生存真不容易,第一,無午巿,晚巿番枱客少;第二,租貴且本區競爭大;最後是外區客不多而且只貪新鮮。連此店前身的Two Rooms縱有首屈一指的奶昔也要関門大吉。今次是第二次光顧,二人只點三個小菜,柚子沙律調味不剛不柔,略熑柚子肉飽滿不足。蝦餅卻驚喜萬分,無論火侯,口感,和味道都很有水準,廚師應下了一番功夫令蝦膠打至彈牙才下鑊。最後燒春鷄雖然是雪鷄但肉身滑又嫰,略咸但和泰式酸甜醬互補長短。中上之選。鄰卓二人也將咖喱蝦一掃而空。希望此店能集中做好已經精緻的menu choice可以在跑馬地站得住腳生存。始終用心做飮食的人在香港又能成功的真是少之又少呀!
