Keyaki is a relatively new yakitori place conveniently located at Lan Kwai Fong. It is part of the same group as Akari and Shiba. It has a long counter seat good for about 15 persons and a number of small tables for 2 persons.
周圍貼滿了昭和年代的宣傳單張和七十年代電影海報,氣氛不錯。標榜用炭燒。原以為與拉麵來有關但原來與另外兩間燒鳥店,あかり(Akari) 和しば(Shiba)才是同一集團。 They used a charcoal grill. Fortunately, the ventilation at the table area was acceptable. There is also a cloak room for your suits and jackets. There are hooks beneath the tables for extra storage.
去的時候人不多,所以感覺通風可以。二人位有點狹窄。友善的職員會把客人的西裝放入儲物室內,避免一身煙味。抬下有勾可掛雜物,省回一點地方。
The menu is in Japanese, Chinese and English. Ironically, the English version is the most accurate version. They serve most standard yakitori items, as well s quite a lot of grilled seafood. Ask the server for daily specials.
一般燒鳥店的選擇都有。全部是一串的價錢。除了餐牌上的之外,亦點了是日推介。(要留意吧抬前的小木板)。

白粟米 北海道進口的白粟米。一般只會生吃的。味道清甜爽口,口感有點似蟠桃。這樣的切法方便用手進食。另一種切法是橫切成小片,更方便客人一口進食。
Okura: The presentation was fairly bad with just 3 small okura per portion. I think the chef overdid the sauce so the okura was fairly soggy.
秋葵一客只有三條,賣相實在是有點寒酸。燒汁下得頗多,令秋葵小了應有的爽口但多了味道。

On the other hand, the Sunagimo (chicken kidney) was good. The timing was good. The sunagimo was succulent. However the chef could have added more salt. It was just lukewarm when served.
The garlics were a bit burnt.
雞肝有點腥味。可能不夠新鮮或醃得不夠,未能去腥。有很大改善空間。
雞腎則燒得剛好,大粒,肉質爽嫩。缺點的上桌時有點凍和味道偏淡。下多點鹽可能更好。
蒜頭有點焦但有點焦香反而挺可口。

雞肉軟骨串 不錯。免治雞肉內有大量軟骨,大大增強了口感。蛋汁亦教得好。相信是用了日本蛋,蛋味濃郁。當然,我最喜歡的是尖東的「Nishiki」.

鱈魚棒 原來日文翻譯錯誤。我們以為是鱈場蟹肉棒,誰知原來是鱈魚片。(英文翻譯是對的。) 烤得很香脆,口感有點似威化餅和燒魚翅之間。適合佐酒。

雞翼 價錢貴但仍想一試。結果沒有令人失望。醃得非常入味,燒得香但大量肉汁全被鎖在內。這看來就是高熱炭燒的好處。

吞拿魚鮫 全晚的亮點。啖啖肉,燒得夠香,有炭香之餘亦有脂香。肉質既結實又不失嫩滑。很讚。但論性價比則「香港烏賊中心」更勝一籌。

新開仍沒有酒牌所以自己帶了啤酒和紅酒。(其實吃串燒我不喜歡配清酒。啤酒較清熱。)晚餐尾聲 點了一些酒肴,分別為營光魷魚漬和牛蒡漬。
味道其實與其他日本餐廳分別不大,但分量很小。其實佐酒小吃如吃得開懷,很多人都會再點更多酒水。不需那麼吝嗇這些平價漬物。

蕨餅 傳統日式甜品之一。相信很多人都吃過類似的甜品。有點像糯米糍加黃豆粉和糖漿。
總結
在蘭桂坊一帶沒有甚麼燒鳥店。「Zawa Zawa」已倒閉。以前「花串」已轉移陣地。「beco」主打牛肉但吊腳。「酋玉」燒得不錯,吃的部位刁鑽,較重口味但地點不算很方便,亦有限時。這店勝在佔了地利,標價較高亦無可厚非。
整體來說,食物質素不錯,但性價比低。地方不大但尚算舒適,服務員亦很有禮。翻吃指數普通。如在附近,或可一試。
The bill came down to $890 including service. I find this fairly pricey. Because of it's convenient location (the nearest yakitori shops are Toritama and Beco), I won't rule out another visit.
題外話/補充資料:
At the time of writing, they do not have a liquor licence.
