Desserts fetish , especially on girls , may found it is very difficult to choose something from Black N White. It's a tough task since all dessert look patricianly elegant and unique . Your eye slight will start starring from the homemade gelati , then yougurt parfaits , sorts of cake cup and pastries in the center part of the cake stand , lastly comes to brownie - filled crepes and chocolate pots . Oh no ! Tell me how can I make my final decision ? Every desserts posses an enchanting power that girls definitely feel guilty and even sinful after craving for such decadent chocolate treats .

Anyway , way back to the dessert . The Signature cake is made with dark chocolate ganache and dark chocolate cream. A cream cheese content was wrapped with chocolate layer and a macaron garnish on side . Marcaron is over sweet with an insipid tastes ,dry but not flaky , doesn't arouse me . But the core entirely moves me ! Chocolate sauce is extra rich and dense , blend smoothly with the cream content , even more comprehensive with a dark chocolate crunch on top , exceedingly chocolatary but still not over sweet , all you can feel is dense and rich . The texture and taste are both marvelous with a base which is made of hazelnut cookie. I specially like the base , it was a crunchy sensation but wasn't too overwhelming . (which happens often). Best pick for chocolate lovers , certainly won't let you down .
Vanilla Napoleon
For the middle one , It's Vanilla Napoleon , it is another signature dessert in Black N White . The presentation is quite glamorous with a distinctive layers ,overall looks particularly grand and charm. The cream is extra soft that smelts swiftly on your tongue and blend well with the vanilla custard . A layer of pastry puff crunch helped break up the soft textures of crème chantilly , vanilla custard and chocolate sponge . Caramelized puff pastry not only create a crispy mouthfuls , but also enhance the overall texture and complex the flavors . This pastry is a big successful which is layers held together in a strong sense , give out a marvellous variety of flavours and textures. Definitely a special Napoleon compare to the normal one .

Since I noticed they provide another special invention - " Cake Cup " ( not cup cakes ) , hence we go for a try too ! Something new and creative in an interesting presentation. Bottom layer is coffee jelly and caramel mousse , then a layer of fresh whip cream , hazelnut cookies and house crumbs dazzle on top . All ingredients are covered by a netted chocolate dome . Coffee jelly itself is dense in flavor , while still keep a mellow note . Whip cream give out a soft touch , magnificently contrast against the hazelnut cookies crunch . House crumbs are extra buttery and in a almond hint , tastes nutty and very favorable that you can't stop having it after the first scoop . Different layers made a perfect texture with extraordinary sense . Somehow , I just can't feel any salted Caramel flavors in overall mouthfuls , but the tastes are still superlative . I was quite surprised by the " Cake Cup" .

This cake is extremely refreshing in en energetic outlook . Bright color no doubt whet your appetite. The texture and flavors are more simple compare to others . Strawberry mousse blend into a weightless touch , goes harmoniously with the vanilla sponge cake . Strawberry jam and strawberry rose jelly in the middle layers gives out a sour hint , it got the potential to strike a balance between sweetness and sourness . Icing Flower garnish on top , a real decoration since it is over sweet , but at least worth to placed on for a fabulous looking. Best pick for strawberries lovers or someone who look for a light one .

Opera cake always stands for royal .For this one , the tastes is extremely strong and chocolatary too . The texture is smooth and creamy . Coffee butter cream is a nice match with rum chocolate ganache , both are rich in flavors and urge the pastry to be even more palatable. Colorful Chocolate pieces placed on top , looks artificial ,but still tastes good . Sponge cake are even more complicated in both Vanilla and Chocolate hint , this temptation certainly can satisfy your max , it heavy filling content is unexpectedly sophisticated in every bites . Best pick for chocolate lovers or looking for something rich !

For the main dessert presentation , we take mixed berries gelato , served with hot cherries sauce and it's wrapped in a egg white crunch ball. This snow ball looks excellent and the staff is very generous to add a handcraft " happy birthday " wordings on the plate for my birthday friend , even say happy birthday to her, quite interactive . The snow ball looks exquisite and delicate , but the egg white is over sweet , does 't really match with the berries gelato . The berries gelato is very refreshing . Strong mixed berries hint give out a natural sourness , nicely contrast against the hot cherries sauce . Such components create a subtle effects and it sparks . Even though such combination is a bit daring , but with an eye - catching presentation , it still score a victory

And for the second one is an Earl grey pudding serve with pomelo sobert . The birthday girl and I truly indulge in this sweets delights . The presentation is same a surprise . The golden leaf glamorously sprinkled on the pudding , with chocolate crisps placed on side , the whole design is very decent and grand . Not only outlook , but the Earl grey pudding inside is a minced pear paste content . Minced pear paste is light and fruity , the strong fruity hint brings out a natural sourness blend well the earl grey mellowness . Pomelo sobert is very refreshing , laid to rest over on a powderised coffee coco beans , the freezing cold sensation is clear headed under a mildly fragrant . The spongy pudding surprising match well with pear paste , very likable . I have no idea such creative combination can create such fruitful sensation , every single spoonful is a new layers of flavors and textures . The overall performance is above average .

Another limited Cake cup ! This strawberry Cake cup is very adorable . Strawberry perfume immediately wafted out to greet us when we cracked the netted chocolate dome . The content is permeated with Strawberry Filling , lemon curd , lemon mousse and Vanilla sponge cake. The texture overall is soft and a bit soggy . Despite the strong strawberries aroma , there was also kicks from the treats itself . Somehow I just think is a bit soggy and moist . Their cake cups got a large varieties , but seems strangely similar - tasting , uniformly sweet , gooey and crumbly . At least , this is quite a different one , sightly sour than the others and u can truly feel the sincerity and sense the creativity via such passionate creations .

The overall ambience is surprisingly chic and modern in a western style. More spacious compare to the normal desserts shops , a pleasant neighborhood anomaly ,with a black and white interior design to set off its theme . Black N white also provide lunch set during afternoon period , customers need to take up to the cashier to place your order .
Service overall is attentive . Staffs and waitress are polite and caring . Well trained , well versed in English too ! They are able to introduce their signature with clear elaboration . Just a little mention . The owner is Chef Jeffrey Koo , the former executive chef at VERO and worked for Mandarin Hotel for years . No wonder . No disappointment . So , what are you waiting for ? Girls , is time for craving desserts ! Yes ! Again !
