The lunch combo comes with a choice of bagel, a salad or soup, and a drink.
Carrot and Ginger Soup
Before we get to the main star, I tried the soup which came in an adorable teacup. The portion is quite understandable since it is supposed to be $68 and they would be loosing lots of money if they gave a full portion. It’s small but definitely enough.
They do not skimp on the ginger and its taste is very prominent and nourishing. It is balanced out by the sweet carrots as to not overwhelm you. The texture is creamy but still a bit lumpy as they don’t add cream to make it vegan.
Arrived warm and tasted good even after cooling down.
House Smoked Salmon bagel
Of course I had to get their signature house smoked salmon bagel and it did not disappoint.
Let’s start with their bagel. Extremely chewy with a slight crunch from the sesame seeds on top and fluffy and tender on the inside. It may seem quite flat but it holds a lot and you will have trouble fitting it ll in your mouth. This is the closest you can get to New York style bagels in HK.
On-to the salmon, so so delicious and I can never eat regular sliced smoked salmon (lox) again. By flaking the whole fillet instead of slicing it, the pieces are meaty and holds more texture without being overtly salty and oily like the sliced ones are. The salmon is on the dry side but I actually preferred that since the cream cheese and cucumbers add a lot of moisture.
The taste of scallions is quite non-existent in the cream cheese despite the bits of scallion you will find in between the smooth crevices but that’s okay because the cheese itself is incredibly creamy and rich without being heavy and is lightened by bursts of brine from capers and the refreshing and crunchy cucumbers light pickled with dill so some extra flavour.
I first thought the portion is rather small but it is actually quite filling so would make for a substantial meal.
Mint Tea
For the drink, you can actually choose any drink from the menu including the $80 cocktails which seems quite a steal and I might have to get it next time 😂
I opted for their mint tea which surprised me as it is fresh mint leaves in a little teapot. Using fresh leaves instead of dried makes for a subtle but strong taste of mint and I definitely felt refreshed afterwards despite it being hot.
The tea also came with a mini Oreo cookie and this warmed my heart 🥹

💬 Overall, a great experience here being transported to a NY deli and I will certainly be back due to their loyalty scheme which states you get a stamp for every bagel or sandwich purchased and with 6 stamps you can redeem a free bagel or sandwich. What a steal! I highly recommend coming here for the lunch combo if you want to try something expensive 🤪
