This place has been on my bookmark list for the longest time and finally visited for a birthday celebration 🇮🇹🇫🇷🍽 Safe to say, each dish wow-ed us even more than the previous one and there wasn’t any disappointment, and in fact the excitement lasts throughout the meal! ❤️🔥
- Fresh Oysters (market price) $348 for 6
- Steam clams w/ sherry, chorizo and basil $148
- Pan fried foie gras w/ apple sauce $138
- Mushroom soup $33
Let’s jump to the good part first: they allow BYOB with no corkage fee (also offer a list of wine options).
For starters: The mushroom soup looks simple, but it’s probably the thickest and richest one i’ve ever had. The oysters were not the cheapest, but they were huge and super fresh, which brings back sydney vibes. We went for the clams and foie gras as recommended by the staff and we were stunned by its quality. The clams were steamed in sherry wine and it’s zesty and spicy to our liking, with the addition of chorizo infused in tomato sauce it brings out the freshness in the seafood, and also makes the dish incredibly flavourful. The foie gras was smoothly and soft textured, strong burst of umami which was balanced out by the sweetness in the apple sauce, tastes heavenly 🤍
💰$1607 for 2 pax, ard $800 pp
(we are big eaters and we went a bit crazy, it’ll be cheaper if you don’t order as much as we did and go for a “normal” / standard portion for a party of two)
food: 9/10
ambiance: ?/10 (cooked food market enviro, expect the toilet to be slightly meh, but everything else was fine and very crowded and lively indeed)
service: 11/10 (the same or even better service you’ll get in a proper western restro, changing plates and cutlery between dishes, fun and talkative staff)
price: $$$/$
worthiness: 4/5
revisit: yes for their pasta/other dishes i haven’t try/for heavy drinking hahah (great to come with a gang of friends)
