Wanted to eat some spices for the evening and decided on Thai food. One of our favourite Thai restaurant is in Tin Hao, a bit too lazy to walk that far this evening. Ended up trying this small, not much decor, very local Thai style type of restaurant. Looking at their menu, their prices are considered cheap for Thai food. If just going for a casual dinner ...... this traditional Thai food restaurant is a very good option. 1) I highly recommend their 冬蔭公湯河, as it's not offer in that many Thai restaurants in HK. At least for the ones I've been to, they tend to serve 冬蔭公湯, but not with noodle. This is one of my favourite dish each time I go to Bangkok. Of course, it is more expensive in HK ...... but their soup taste has a lot of traditional herbs, and tasted just like Bangkok ones .... except not as spicy!!!! But they don't have those thick noodles as in Thai .......... else this will be perfect! For $28 ...... I'm very satisfied already and will definitely return for this!
2) As appetizers, we ordered 1/2 dozen of satays for $48. Originally we wanted chicken and beef, but they then told us the chicken were sold out. Anyhow, we got pork and beef instead. Of course their satay cannot replace the perfect ones @ 泰出色, but they are acceptable standards. I would recommend the beef .... but not the pork. As for their dipping sauce, the taste is not bad, but it tends to be quite thin (would prefer if they can make it thicker).
3) Thai style Pork sausage & chicken feet for $42. All Thai restaurants can do this easily, as every restaurant tends ot taste the same (similar spices/sauces). But as a Thai restaurant, their food tends to be not too spicy ... maybe they've adjusted for HK people.
4) Lastly, 海南雞飯 for $39. Their chicken tends to be quite soft. The rice not too oily. But as mentioned, their dipping sauce is quite thin.
