Haven't been here for a while and was craving for a 滑蛋豬扒飯 and decided to come here again.We arrived at 9:30pm and the restaurant was empty. But the restaurant was filled with the smell of smoke from cigarettes, like a karaoke.We ordered a 滑蛋豬扒飯 & 親子丼.The 滑蛋豬扒飯 arrived first , it's definitely not as good a before as the egg was overcooked and rice was not very hot.Then the 親子丼 arrived 5 minutes later. We ordered a 滑蛋豬扒飯 & 親子丼.
The 滑蛋豬扒飯 arrived first , it's definitely not as good a before as the egg was overcooked and rice was not very hot.
Then the 親子丼 arrived 5 minutes later. This one is actually very disappointing as the rice was only room temperature, chicken was pan-fried, onion was undercooked and hard, and the sauce was quite watery. Not authentic at all!!
After our meal, we called the waiter over and told him about what we thought of the food. We were very disappointed with the food quality as the basic requirement from any restaurant is that the food must be served hot. He went into the kitchen to check with the chef and explained to us that is was because it was late and they already pulled the plug from the rice cooker (they close at 11:00pm and it was only 9:30pm) and the chef already scooped the rice in the bowl before he started to prepare for the egg so the rice was kind of sitting there for another 15 minutes. He said next time we should have told him right away but there is nothing he can do now. He even said that chefs kind of slack off when they are not busy so the quality might not be as good! That's the first time I ever heard that excuse!!
So my advise would be don't go into a restaurant that's empty, there must be a good reason for it!!
