To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Simon Rognaic restaurants, they have a one-week limited tasting menu featuring their signature/popular dishes from different restaurants of Simon Roganic. The lobster roll was a lovely start. The lobster was further enriched with the lobster head emulsion and the gooseberry topping complemented the flavors a lot.
This was a dish bursting with all kinds of flavors. The beef was served as a tartar but by adding the coal oil, it gave it a barbecued flavor despite it was not cooked. The earthy flavors of the roasted pumpkin seeds and the stronger flavors of the caviar together with the tartar was amazing.
The five flavor(spices) monkfish included vanilla, lime, licorice, orange peel and mint. Although they all sound to be sweet flavors, it still worked for the savory dish. The cranberry and hazelnut sauce gave this dish an extra Christmas flavor.
The light flavor of the milk ice-cream and meadowsweet cream matched so well with the rich strawberry filling and sauce. The bee pollen cake also was like a sponge absorbing the flavors, allowing you to enjoy it all in one bite.
Concluding the meal would be this tarty dessert. What seemed to be chocolate was actually caramel pudding with apple fillings and apple and pine sauce at the bottom. Definitely a great refreshing end for this meal.
