This Michelin ⭐️⭐️⭐️ French restaurant has always been on my bucket list. They just reached their best rank 24 in Asia 50 best restaurant. The interior decor was so glamorous and the service was professional and attentive but not every dish lived up to its fame. We chose the 6-course signature menu at $2480 per person. I was really disappointed with their main course and their onion soup also tasted weird..🥂Amuse BoucheThree small beautiful appetizers hidden in a mirror box including a white aspara

🥂Amuse Bouche
Three small beautiful appetizers hidden in a mirror box including a white asparagus shrimp tart, salmon and cheese bread. I love the shrimp tart most but the other two were still delicious and packed with flavours.
🥂Bread Basket
A bread basket is a must and I picked two from it accompanied by salted and unsalted butter. The flaky one was very soft and I would have asked for one more if I still have room for it.
🥂Land and Sea Tartare
If it’s just an Australian Wagyu Beef Tartare, I’d say the taste was not bad. But knowing that Gillardeau oyster was mixed inside and I couldn’t taste or find any of that made me feel betrayed. Topped with some Kristal Caviar and gold flakes with parsley and egg yolk sauce on the side that made it very appealing. However, I think the beef tartare from Épure did a better job.
🥂Slow Cooked Langoustine with White Asparagus
Featuring the seasonal white asparagus that was hidden under the Brittany Seafood and Verbena Cream, it was very refreshing and appetising. The langoustine was cooked to the right doneness that gave a sweet taste and bouncy texture. Overall this was one of the highlights of the night.
🥂Hot and Cold Onion Soup
The concept was interesting but the taste was weird. Ice cream, cheese and onion puree were on top of a crispy biscuit but that was indeed a bit soggy. The ingredients just didn’t match with each other.
🥂Red Mullet with Shellfish, Green Asparagus and Razor Clam Ragout
The fish was a bit overcooked and not smooth in texture. The sea urchin wasabi sauce was very flavourful but the main character should taste better.
🥂Racan Pigeon “a l’Etouffée in a Coffee Crust, Salsifies, Arabica Sauce
First bite of pigeon was super gamey that ruined everything and there was no crust at all. I could hardly finish that but glad the duck foie gras could keep its standard. But still really disappointed on this main. The pigeon I had in Arbor had a much better quality.
🥂Caprice Cheese Cellar
Different types of cheese were presented on a log and the server selected 5 kinds of cheese according to your preference. I liked their Valençay cheese that had a hint of fruity taste. The aged comte was too strong for my taste. The jam, apricot and walnuts paired well with the cheese.
🥂Banana Chocolate Millefeuille, Cocoa Sorbet
🥂Petit Four
Their desserts were another highlight but we were so full and decided to take the petit four home. I finished that the next day and still enjoyed that.
There are only two 3 Stars Michelin French restaurants in Hong Kong and I honestly think Jöel Robuchon deserves this fame more than this place. Only the complimentary appetizers and desserts were good here, others are just so so. The environment and service were impeccable but this can’t be a strong reason for me to revisit.
