Kyo Hayashiya, established in 1753 in Kyoto, invented matcha milk and matcha parfait. It established two branches in Hong Kong, first in Causeway Bay then next in Taikoo. Now both savory and sweet food are their specialty. I can feel the Kyoto vibe through the ambience and food. Both the savory and sweet food are nice. Kyoto unagi don $98Sweet, salty, and unami. Kyoto unagi don $98
Sweet, salty, and unami.
Kyohayashiya obanzai $88
Appetizer, miso soup, and seasoned rice. The mains include fist fillet, chicken pieces, egg-roll, fungus etc. in delicate portion.
Hojicha milk$46
One of the best hojicha drinks I have ever tried. Not too sweet with hint of hojicha and not too ‘tea’ with the topped fresh cream.
Hojicha roll cake $88
Hojicha fans cannot miss it. The hojicha taste is there but can be stronger.
Chestnut lovers $98
Under the chestnut layer you find green tea cake and cream. A rich layered combination.
p.s. Kyo Hayashiya has its own farm and factory in Japan to produce the tea used in its products.
