I love breakfast type sandwiches.Grilled toasty buttery bread with egg, cheese and meat. Items I usually find when I go travelling in Taiwan or go back home to Canada. But here? Only recently, there has been a few shops offering this. Life Toast is one of them.Located in Causeway Bay's Haven Street, it has taken over the dessert shop that previously vacated it. Thus, it's not very big and not that many seats. It's cutely decorated with random egg and bread items (like the exact same smiley bread
Located in Causeway Bay's Haven Street, it has taken over the dessert shop that previously vacated it. Thus, it's not very big and not that many seats. It's cutely decorated with random egg and bread items (like the exact same smiley bread sponge I use for my kitchen that I got at Living Plaza).
Menu is in Chinese and English. There is no 10% service charge. They have several types of sandwiches and you can upgrade to a combo which includes either fries or a snack and a drink.
I ordered a double cheese and bacon with scrambled egg ($53) and upgraded to a combo with a snack and drink ($25).
The snack I chose was Thai style chicken tulips. There were two of them. Meat was a bit tough but it wasn't dry. Taste was pretty flavorful and not spicy as I suspected as I thought the word Thai meant it might be spicy. It wasn't.
The bread was buttered and toasted well. The filling didn't really hold well and there didn't seem to be a lot of egg. Though the egg was fluffy and sprinkled with chives. There was two slices of processed cheese and the bacon itself sandwiched melted mozzarella shreds. All was drizzled with mayo. It looked incredibly messy but it did taste good. Not as good as others in the city that I've tried that offer this type of thing but it's fine enough.
Service was very cheery. Food was decent though yes, I've had better. But prices aren't overly expensive. It's close enough to where I live so I'll be back.
