Been a while since I have fine dining in Hong Kong and this is actually my third time after coming back to HK. MIC kitchen is actually a fine-dining restaurant which relocated from Kwun Tong to Central. It is under same chef as Bo Innovation and you may say it’s one of the most humble restaurant in the fine-dining scene. When we arrived to the restaurant, the manager has greeted us politely with a big friendly smile. Once we are being seated, the unique experience began…It is an open kitchen, guests can see how the chefs prefer and cook all the food.
There are two complimentary snacks for us, one is the grilled cheese, and the other called the ‘KFC’ chicken. The grilled cheese was so delicious and the portion was just right (not filling at all but satisfied). The ‘KFC’ chicken was a healthier version, it was meatballs with some Korean element of the spicy sauce.

1. Beef was the first starter, it was a beef carpaccio cold dish, with garlic and olive oil. The beef tasted fresh and tasty.

2. Brussel sprouts was the second starter which was full of crunchy layers and it’s a very playful dish indeed.

3. Lobster was the first main dish with risotto, pumpkin and grains. The lobster was yummy in the sense that the taste has soaked into the lobster itself. However, three of us think that the risottos can be a bit softer.

4. Sea bass was the second main dish, even though the fish wasn’t too big, the highlights of this dish was actually the three sauces. When mixed the three sauces together, the taste of the sauce was unexpectedly good along with the fish.

5. Pigeon was also delicious, the meat was moist and not much fat surrounded the pigeon.

6. My friends ordered the uni and it was definitely their favs, uni fresh from Hokkaido and pasta was home made.

7. To end this meal, we had 3 kinds of desserts - Molecular, Rum Baba, and Petit Four.

The dessert part of this meal is actually my favourite. Very creative, the chef was informative and every plate was presentable and good for photo taking. The price of this meal is definitely live up to what they delivered. In terms of services, food, environment. I would come back if there’s any celebration for sure! It was an excellent meal overall. Thanks MIC Kitchen for giving us a memorable night.
