I'd like to introduce my all time favourite family style korean restaurant 🥰 I guess I come here every three months🤭 not a big fan but for sure a regular customer 🤤Every customers first serve with a bowl of pepper seaweed soup and three dishes of kimchi. Every customers first serve with a bowl of pepper seaweed soup and three dishes of kimchi. Tea here is goji date tea. Tonight soup was as expectedly peppery and hearty. Always serve boiling hot. Staff randomly gave three different types of kimchi: normal kimchi, garlic spinach and black pepper potato. You are allowed to refill the kimchi once. And we got black bean, bean curd and sprouts in next round. Tea was hearty, but personally thought my last visit was infused with a stronger flavour. All in all, it's a welcoming beginning.😌
We tried the korean style kimchi steam dumplings, korean stone pot rice and chop suey (beef). No joke, the portion size here always enormous, don't over estimate your appetite 😂
We have never tried and always want to give a go for the steam dumplings every time seeing others enjoying it. Not a surprise, it's huge😂 11 big dumplings were served😂 Wrapping was alright, not thin and not too thick. Stuffing was kimchi with pork. Very homemade style. Dumplings itself tasted slightly spicy and meaty but once dipping with the sauce, it gave a sourness kick. Not bad.
Korean stone pot rice was burning hot. Sizzling sound literally gave you a warning signal 'dont touch me pls!'😂. We mixed with generous amount of spicy korean sauce and let it aside for the crispy rice bottom form🥳. After cooling off a bit, we started digging in🥰 Every spoonful of rice was full of exploding flavour! 🤭Spicy crispy rice with crunchy vegetables paired with well seasoned beef🤩 just speechlessly good🤩Beef didn't overcook even we let it sit in the hot stone pot. What a normal typical Korean dish but in a unique homemade style!
Chop Suey (beef) was again gigantic🤣. Glass noodle was very chewy. Not too uncomfortably oily😂 It stir fried with loads of vegetables and big pieces of beef. Vegetables were crunchy, beef was tender and eating with the chewy glass noodle. It's a mix of texture that made you keep eating.
It's honestly satisfying every time you eat here. Staff were nice and thoughtful. Recommending dishes, efficient to tidy up and guiding the traditional eating method. Again, I must come back for next round! 🥳
