Ever since moving out of Sai Kung downtown, Stephen and I have seldom walked the waterfront and never noticed Freezer until ...We were drawn in, not by its cool décor: not really our cup of tea. We were drawn in, not by its cool décor: not really our cup of tea. We were not drawn in by the aroma from their freshly prepared pizza or lamb either, for we had just had an early dinner.
We were drawn in by their live music, a rich male voice singing oldies. We went in, and discovered more ...
- A wooden floor, something rare in HK, and a CLEAN wooden floor, which is rarer
- On the table REAL flowers, in dainty vases, another rarity
- Candles, artificial, but ROMANTIC light through sanded glass
- The Filipino singer's RICH repertoire
- aaaaaaaaand their ROYAL cakes
I had Chocolate Truffle(?) and Stephen chose Black Forest.
I asked if their baker & chef was from one of those 5 stars. I just had a feeling he was, from his cake, from his look, from the way he carried himself. Indeed, he used to work at Continental!
We went in at 7:30 pm and meant to stay for only half an hour. By the time we left the intoxicating music and the friendly owner and staff, it was 10!
I felt like staying on for another set of music. But it was time to go home to let the dogs out. I said to myself: I would be back.
