I came for dinner couple months ago and now they have launched a new brunch menu, hence I am back for some dim sum~~ The weekend brunch menu starts serving at noon till 3pm, I arrived at 12:30pm and it was pretty empty. I was coincidentally arranged to be seated on the same spot like last time haha~ The starters and sides are fixed, you can choose a main course and have UNLIMITED dim sum small bites!!! Soon after we settled down, the starter Boston Lobster Mixed Green Salad has been served to us

Soon after we settled down, the starter Boston Lobster Mixed Green Salad has been served to us. You are able to see a large claw on the green veggies, however there is another huge of lobster meat with roes hiding underneath them!! The lobster tastes quite good, just is a bit tough to chew, but the roes are amazing. Overall the salad is rather refreshing, since there are few sesame leafs and sour dressing.

Next starter is the Fang Fang Signature Shrimp Dumpling, it was filled with plenty of chopped shrimp pieces. I love the al dente texture of the shrimp, it would be better if the dumpling sheet to be slightly thinner.

As the dim sum small bites are all we can eat, we decided to try all of the dim sum once first. The Fried Chicken Dumpling arrived ahead, I think the surface is the too thick and a bit oily. Nevertheless, the chicken filling tastes yummy, you are able to savor the chicken taste and work well with other diced ingredients.

How can you miss out the Pork & Shrimp Siu Mai when having dim sum? Fang Fang has transformed this traditional and local dish into a luxurious dish by adding a niche of black caviar on the top. The combination of pork and shrimp is in perfect balance, the texture is totally enjoyable.

Meanwhile, the Steamed Vegetarian Dumpling has been served to the table. The dumpling sheet was infused with the seaweed and wrapped with diced mushroom. This is one of my favorite among all, healthy and carries a rich and delicious mushroom flavor.

The following dish is not really “dim sum” but an authentic dish, Salt & Pepper Tofu. The tofu was diced and deep fried, then coated with salt and pepper. I love that bean taste of the tofu, those salt and pepper make a contrast to the flavor.

Another dish that is good for vegetarian would be the Five Spice Mock Chicken, instead of using chicken, the dish is made with bean curd. I think this dish is quite similar to salt & pepper tofu, it was also diced in piece and along with a light hint of bean taste.

Frankly I was pretty full after all those dim sum, but we still have couple dishes to go!! The first main course is Fang Fang Paneer, I didn’t know what paneer is until I looked up on Google lol. It is some sorts of cheese and the staff told us it is one of their signature dish, so paneer it is. It is unlike most of the cheese, it doesn’t carry a strong flavor, yet a light milky taste. It works perfectly with the little spicy sauce, it would be good to pair with a bowl of rice.

We have added $50 to upgrade another main course to Aromatic Duck with Crepe. This is like a roast peking duck 2.0, as the appearance is rather alike. The duck has been deep-fried, the meat is tender but not juicy enough. You will need to hold a piece of crepe on hand first, then put the duck, shredded cucumber and leek and the special sauce, wrap them up and eat at once!!

The portion of the food are really generous here, we were 95% full by then. But as usual, I can’t leave without the DESSERT!! Since there were two people, we were allowed to order two desserts!!

The Matcha Fondant is off the menu, it was a replacement for the Ginger Crème Brulee. The staff told us this dessert would take about 15 -20 mins to make, which can give my stomach a break haha. Its presentation is definitely colorful and stunning! Cut the fondant gently and the molten matcha filling will just leak out. You are able to savor a bittersweet matcha flavor, the freshly baked fondant taste amazing with the ice cold vanilla icecream. It is not as sweet as it seems and you can have some berries to freshen up the taste as well.

For some reason the Coconut Panna Cotta served after the Matcha Fondant lol, yet it also looks FABULOUS!! The panna cotta is super shaky, you can make a funny video after its movement haha. The panna cotta carries a hint of coconut flavor and the super sour passion fruit sauce can balance the taste, totally refreshing.
