I had mixed expectations regarding Little Burro. On the one hand, I'd had their burritos before (at some event thrown jointly with Restoration and Magnolia) and I found them bland and lacking. Some friends of mine however visited the CWB location and said they were actually pretty good, so I resolved to give them a chance. It so happened that the first chance that rolled around was my birthday. One thought: the big sticker is a real pain when you're trying to remove the foil as you eat your burri

As regards the burrito itself: I got carnitas, borrocho beans w/ bacon, rice, cheese, guacamole, salsa verde and no sour cream/ no lettuce. The most overwhelming flavor of the burrito was citrus (presumably lime), and I think it came from both the guacamole and the salsa verde. It was a somewhat sour burrito. There was no spice to any of it, and the hot sauce at the counter we ate at was limited to sriracha, oddly enough. The rice and beans were pretty dry and bland, and I personally much prefer the option at Chipotle of substituting fajita veggies (onions and peppers) for the beans. The carnitas was good, but not really a competitor with great carnitas, which is ubiquitous in Mexico and the American southwest.

In general, my thoughts are this: these burritos are a step down from Chipotle and could really use some spice and less lime. That said, the step down isn't a large one, and these will satisfy a burrito craving. Compared to some of the truly awful offerings of Mexican food (I use that broadly to incorporate Tex Mex and Mission Burritos) that one finds in Hong Kong-- places like Agave and Taco Loco-- Little Burro is a godsend. I prefer some of the tacos at Socialito and Brickhouse, but after those tacos, I can't think of any Mexican food available in HK that I'd rather have than Little Burro burritos.

In summary: it's about a C- (OK, alright) on a universal, objective scale, but somewhat more like a B+ (good) when considered in context.
