Dining at Murasaki is a Japanese restaurant which is famous for their omakase dinner, serving dishes selected and cooked by the chef. With a posh interior design and amazing novel desserts, Dining at Murasaki got my heart immediately when I first visited for a dessert set with house cocktail. And of course, I am not gonna miss this super pampering afternoon tea set!1. We started with savory food first, even though both the sweets and savory were served at the same time, and we did worried for a
2. Food on the savory side include Pull Pork Burger, Crispy Wasabi Crab Cracker, Foie Gras Vol-au-vent, Chirashi and Egg Salad Baguette.
3. Everything are pretty impressive, except the Egg Salad Baguette, which could be severed with toasted baguette instead to make it more enjoyable.
4. We love everything else, really! They are just so perfectly made. It’s a great omakase restaurant, and they do live up to their fame.
5. If we really have to pick, Chiarashi (uni and fish mini rice bowl) and Foie Gras Vol-au-vent are our favourites.
1. As for the sweets, they looked more colourful and attractive as always! I think if you are an afternoon tea person, the sweet side is what you are looking forward to!
2. The sweets consist of Steamed Japanese Chestnut Cake, Scones (Plain and Raisin with Clotted Cream and Raspberry Rose Jam), Melon Mochi, Kuzukiri Noodles Rosemary Honey, Homemake Chocolate Tart, Peanut Parfait, Earl Grey Custard Charcoal Puff, and a Lava Chocolate Moon Cake (only available during Mid-Autumn Festival week).
3. We felt lucky that the first dessert picked is the least impressive one, actually the second dessert, as we ate the scones on the savory side first. The Kuzukiri Noodles Rosemary Honey brought us a bit of shock with the dressing. The rosemary honey does not taste rosemary nor honey. It’s overly herbal in taste which is quite weird. The texture of noodles is fine, and it amazed us with its transparency. We would rather have it without the rosemary honey.
4. Everything else on the “branches” are really delicious, we kept wooing and wowing when we tried out different pieces. What’s more, they are pieces of food art not only for your mouth, but also for your eyes.
5. Our favourite? Earl Grey Custard Charcoal Puff (as my cousin loves earl grey) and Homemade Chocolate Tart (it’s just irresistible as it has hint of hazelnut!)
