Quarry Bay is pretty boring on breakfast cus most of the restaurant would just open for lunch. This newly opened restaurant serves a full on All Day Breakfast throughout the day. There are 2 sets available, one with pork sausages, while the other one goes with deep fried fish fillet. I have chosen the latter one just because I like fish. The set comes with a few items including garlic bread, hash brown, scrambled egg, 2 strips of bacon, grilled tomato, baked beans, salad, and fruit. A cup of juice can also be chosen with the set.
The size is very generous for the price of $7x. The scrambled egg is cooked until perfect with a giggly texture. I liked to enjoy it with the savoury garlic bread because they both work well with each other and the flavour just intensify when you mix and match different ingredients.
The whole piece of fish fillet has been deep fried until golden brown, not too overly burned. The flesh is super flaky and it is piping hot. It was really warming during this colder weather in Hong Kong when having something this hot.
Two whole strips of bacon is also cooked nicely with a nice char on the surface. The fat is not too overly greasy and it is put on top of a piece of tomato to balance out the oily feel.
The hash brown is very tasty. It's very similar to the McD one. Perfectly cooked. Very moist in the centre but still very crunchy in the outside.
The baked bean is pretty basic but I do like that the set comes with a pile of healthy fresh green salad with just a light dressing. I also really enjoyed the dragon fruits on the side, which I think is a best kind food to have to kick start a day. Apart from protein and carbs, I think fiber is also very important in our diet. Therefore I would say this is a very good breakfast for everyone to keep us healthy and satisfied until lunch time!
Though the restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, I think it worths walking a few extra steps to enjoy this affordable meal with friends or colleagues as Quarry Bay is an area full of offices from Kerry Building or Taikoo Place!
