Came to try out the Yuen Long branch of the Yell - Owl having visited the Kowloon City branch previously. This place is famous for its All Day Breakfast and for lunch that’s what we did.We ordered one Yell Owl Set and 1 x A La carte from the “design your own” breakfast menu. All the food was cooked to as it should be, nothing difficult. The most technical element of both dishes is the Eggs Benedict having to poach the egg to ensure a runny yolk and making a perfect hollandaise sauce giving the creamy acidity to the dish. They do a decent job of the Eggs Benedict here, no major flaws.
Everything else is grilled on a hot plate and had a perfect char grilled on the tomatoes and mushroom. The salad is fresh and clean and the other elements such as the bacon, sausage, baked beans and corn is…. well not overcooked (what else can you say). The croissant is slightly hard though.
The food looks good, well presented when it arrives and is almost, if not exactly the same as the Kowloon City branch. The restaurant seating is spacious, air conditioning is great being cold and the service is quite attentive and quick.
Latte was ice cold, not strong slight milky and nothing special.
The conclusion is that there is no significant cost saving in ordering a set or designing you own breakfast platter.
