Often I don't want to go out for dinner and I don't want to cook. I like pre-made takeaway meal. Something really easy that I can pop in the microwave and eat on my couch.Il Bel Paese is a tiny Italian grocery store. You can eat there, but I think I'd feel uncomfortable dining while other people are shopping.There's lots of good groceries there: they seem to always have avocados and some nice tomatoes. Often it's tough to find provalone in HK, but IBP always has it. I tried their turkey once but

There's lots of good groceries there: they seem to always have avocados and some nice tomatoes. Often it's tough to find provalone in HK, but IBP always has it. I tried their turkey once but it was the strangest, weirdest turkey I've ever had.
Anyway, what about their pre-made food? Well, I was never really big on their sandwiches, so I was hesitant to try the other stuff. But my desire not to cook eventually overcame my hesitation, and here's what I got:
My wife had half the food we ordered, so the portions are about double what you see in the picture. We got lasagne ($68), spaghetti w/ meatballs ($68), and broccoli ($32). I thought the lasagne was good-- a little on the saucy and sweet side, but still good (B-), the spaghetti and meatballs had a disappointing amount of sauce and quite a lot of pasta (lots more than double the amount pictured). There were only 5 meatballs but they were nice and firm and meaty and flavorful (B-). The broccoli was fresh but maybe a little undercooked (B). I thought the food was good (B/B-) and I'll probably go back next time work saps my will to cook. I think the takeaway stuff at Monsieur Chatte is a little bit better, but it's also a little bit pricier, so there you go.
