We went here for a birthday meal excited to try expensive spicy food seeing as I had only ever eaten it dirt cheap when I lived in Hunan province.I rarely eat at expensive (ish!) places so had high hopes but it was... alright.We ordered the pork jowl first and that was probably the best dish, sweet and spicy. The dan dan noodles were also delicous but I've eaten better at $50- $100 restuarants. The cucumber from the snacks section of the menu was also tasy but thinking back couldn't be worth $58

We also had the bonless chicken. Not many chickens were harmed in the making of this dish, it was actually small pieces of fried chicken with dried chillies. The chicken really did take on the spices though and each piece was really flipping hot by the end.
The wontons were a little dissapointing as the peanut sauce was so thick and claggy. If HK style wontons in peanut butter are your thing maybe you'd enjoy it more.
Also, am I right to be peeved about this? They were playing such naff outdated pop music, Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis? Could they not find anything better? Also we were charged for tea which was already poured. Restaurants are still doing this? I didn't realise.
