It was getting colder and colder as winter had come, so it was time for us to eat some spicy food to warm the body up! I can’t really eat very spicy food, so Korean food is always my perfect option as the dishes are not only spicy but also sweet or sour. The eatery was not very spacious, yet, it was warmly decorated. Overall, the environment was quite comfortable. We ordered three dishes in total and all of them tasted exactly the same like the food I had in Korea! They were very authentic!

The first one is Fried Boneless Chicken with Korean Spicy Sauce (half portion). I am sure no one can resist this fired chicken which had a crisp, craggy and golden crust. Most of the chicken pieces were juicy; however, one or two pieces made of chicken breast were a bit dry. The spicy sauce which was sweet and spicy was a perfect match with the deeply fried chicken. Another thing that surprised me was the pickled radish. These tiny cubes, pickled in sweet, sour and salty brine, tasted very refreshing when paired with the fried chicken! We could not help asking for another plate of pickled radish during our meal.

The second dish was Stir-fried Rice Cake with Ramen Noodles. It is indeed one of my favourite Korean food. The rice cake was chewy and soft, a texture which I enjoy chewing. The spicy and sour taste was so addictive that we could not stop eating.

We indeed ordered the third dish to accompany the Stir-fried Rice Cake with Ramen Noodles. That was Rice with Egg & Seaweed. This was the best combination for a bowl of rice. With seaweed, the rice became a bit salty in taste; with the egg, the rice became smoother and thinker in texture. The bowl of rice helped to complement the hot taste of the rice cake.
With its authentic Korean taste and reasonable price, we will definitely revisit this restaurant again. Indeed, we were attracted by the dish named “prawn in soy sauce” while reading the menu, but the waitress replied that this dish must be ordered at least a week earlier for preparation. Thus, we hope to try this next time when we visit Foodbox again.
