I stumbled upon a small traditional cake shop located by the MongKok wet food market called Ming Wah cake shop. Seeing a crowd forming by this small outpost, curiosity drew me in. Asking for some recommendation, the owner told me that their Glutinous Rice Cake with Red Bean Paste is their best selling item. The cake was chewy and springy with a good ratio of red bean to cake filling. The icing on the cake was that it was served hot. There was not much difference in taste between their and Kee Tsui version, though it guess Ming Wah's price was slightly cheaper. It was really a hidden gem found.
