First impressions make a lot of difference, this place is certainly going the right way in terms of service. Although the place is small, my companions were greeted with a friendly welcome, they were offered a place to sit in the air conditioning whilst waiting for a table. Running a bit late my companions went ahead and ordered without me, although the waitress was very happy to wait until I arrived before serving, and timed it just right so that there would be hot food to eat not long after I
There was a large variety of things to choose from. Although the place says it is a vegetarian joint we were questioning it at the beginning, some of the dishes looked like the genuine thing. Don't worry we tried and tested it for you vegetarians out there and it is definitely meat free.
The first dish served was the mango cutlet roll and the tuna sushi. Although not quite tuna tasting the tuna sushi was fine, although it could have done with less wasabi. Not knowing that they had already placed wasabi into the sushi, I added more, mmm just let say the tears were rolling.
The mango cutlet roll again was of similar standard, it was fine, but did not make much of an impact. The second dish served was the satay eel hot pot rice. The first thing that we noticed was aromatic smell of the fried rice layer, the fried rice was nicely cooked, not too hard or soft, and each rice nicely coated. The imitation eel reminded me more of aubergine, but the topping went well with the rice. A very appetising dish. A good dish to go for. The ensuing two dishes, steamed bean curd and mushroom, and Shark fin and egg white, again were quite nice, but nothing particularly wow. Overall a good meatless free meal. A good place to visit for those meat free days.
