As a noodle lover, I am a regular noodle eater every week trying out all types of noodle. My last visit to Yugu noodle was quite awhile ago, missing it suddenly today.I ordered the typical spicy and sour soup base mixian with extra water spinach and omitting coriander. My friend ordered cold potato noodle mix with extra pork neck, water spinach and stuffed fish tofu. Spicy sour soup was incredibly flavorous. Spicy sour soup was incredibly flavorous. Mild spiciness from the mince with tanginess from the fermented vegetables. Both were balanced well. Soup wasn't oily at all. Chinese chives, sprouts and spring onions were given in generous amount. Mixian was soft, not too chewy or tough. More on a thin side. Water spinach was cooked just right, kept the crunch. The only criticism was asking for no coriander while still two to three coriander branches left ending up few bites tasted coriander pungent flavour.
Cold potato noodle mix were in huge portion. My friend was so stuffed after finishing it. Not spicy at all as my friend asked for no spiciness. Pork neck was a bit overcooked. Pretty tough but flavour still there. Stuffed fish tofu was alright. Umami and soft. Water spinach was again crunchy and cooked just right. Whole bowl was just right.
We were visiting at 4ish pm. Most staff were having late lunch at that time, ending up many customers were having difficulty to make order and all orders took longer than usual because only one staff was doing all the tasks. Some customers even complained the management of all staff having lunch at the same time while only one working on everything and whole restaurant was packed. It was a bit hectic but at the end, be patient for the goodness.
