This place, called the Yuan (although the Cantonese name sounds tot-all-y different. I had trouble finding this listing on Openrice. The decor from the outside marks it out as as different to the shopfronts and restaurants nearby. We went in, where there were free tables but we had to queue for ordering. We queried whether we could sit down and order but were told we couldn't. And what made it worse, was that the menu on the wall was in Chinese. And it was confusing. There was just 1 lunch set,

The decor from the outside marks it out as as different to the shopfronts and restaurants nearby. We went in, where there were free tables but we had to queue for ordering. We queried whether we could sit down and order but were told we couldn't. And what made it worse, was that the menu on the wall was in Chinese. And it was confusing.
There was just 1 lunch set, and we asked why there was so little choice and they said we could order a la carte, add a drink - we said would this be cheaper - they said 'no'. But then they said this was still a 'set'. Think it's a bit like saying oh here;s a sandwich - oh, actually here's the bread, the cheese, the butter and ham and you have to make it yourself. Comprende?!! So I chose the only lunch set, just to keep things simple. It was a chicken and cucumber concoction with rice, soup too. The taste was okay, pretty forgettable. There was a lot of cucumber there and could've been more chicken. The soup was fine. Overall, the dish was pretty dull. Too heavy on the cucumber.
My tray was cleared even before i could finish the soup, without asking me whether i wanted it still or not.
