After returning to HK last month, I had to meet up with a friend to give him something I bought for him in the US. He works in Central and wanted to grab a drink after work in Lan Kwai Fong, so we met up there. When I got to Central, I was hungry, so we decided to grab a bite as well. The menu is on display at the entrance, and the logo looks a lot like the vintage logo of a burger "royalty"!
As the name suggests, the setting of the restaurant is a bar setting with tall tables and bar stools. The bar stools were not the most comfortable for my corgi legs, but that's expected in a bar setting.
Napkins and disposable plastic gloves were readily available on the table. That's a nice touch for those who prefer not to get messy while having a burger, but I believe that the drippage from a burger running down your fingers is a sign of a good burger, so I went bare hands with my burger!
After checking out the menu, I decided to get the Classic Beef Burger. My ideal burger would be a juicy patty, lettuce, tomato, and some awesome sauce sandwiched between two burger buns, and when I'm feeling extra indulgent, maybe a couple strips of bacon. The description of the Classic Beef Burger at Burger Bar: USDA Certified Angus Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Sautéed Onion, Burger Bar Sauce which was quite similar to my ideal burger.
My friend and I decided to share a couple of sides too, so I picked the Waffle Fries, and he picked the Fried Calamari. He went for a couple of cold beers while I stuck with my usual soda!

The Angus beef patty was a perfect medium rare and incredibly juicy! I don't like to post food pictures of my chomp marks, but I just had to show how juicy that burger was! The cheddar cheese was melted to the right amount of gooeyness without overpowering the flavor of the Angus beef. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and crunchy, and the Burger Bar sauce had a good balance of savory and tart flavors. I was a little hesitant about the sautéed onions in the burger because I don't like the spiciness of raw onions (I even checked with the server on the onions, and he assured me that the onions are cooked). As promised, the onions were definitely cooked and completely caramelized!

Although Burger Bar doesn't have the most comfortable seating for a restaurant, it more than makes up for it in the quality of their burger! There are your regular fast food burgers, and there are steakhouse-style burgers. Burger Bar's burger has the quality of a steakhouse-style burger without the hefty price tag!
At $88, the Classic Beef Burger at Burger Bar will fill your stomach up and satisfy your taste buds at the same time!
