Embarrassingly bad customer service. For a restaurant that charges over $150 avg per dish, they should be ashamed of the experience they offer. I went last night with a large group, and honestly had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had in Hong Kong.We arrived at 7:30 and ordered at around 8:00 as we were waiting for others to arrive. We arrived at 7:30 and ordered at around 8:00 as we were waiting for others to arrive. We didn't even get our starters until around 8:45. The main dishes finished arriving at 9:30-9:45.
Our host was actually shocking with how rude he was. It was like he managed to somehow personally insult each one of us in one way or another. We ordered a wine, and because the wines are organic, a lot of them were unfamiliar to us. The server first insulted our original choice, and pushed us to choose something else, but then could barely make a recommendation based on "fruity and not too dry white wine".
Once the wine was picked and was being served, he acted shocked at me when I said I wasn't drinking, and insisted I did, while also shaming me for not drinking on a Saturday. I had to flat out say I didn't want to drink alcohol about 3 times before he let it go. After this, I said I would like to have a fruit tea, but this drink never arrived.
We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, and were thinking of leaving when it got to about 9:15pm, but then a few plates started to show up. The food was just okay. Some dishes were much better than others, but for the most part the food was very oily (especially the roast vegetables).
Some of the portion sizes were an absolute joke because of how small they were. The "kebab" offered was a total embarrassment for the $180 this restaurant is charging for it - it was 2 sticks of very dry brown vegetables, that honestly looked very unappetizing, and a tablespoon of hummus smeared underneath. Same goes for the "chicken tikka masala" which just looked like a child's portion at $168. The macadamia agnolotti was also soaked in oil, and mediocre in terms of flavour. I thought the mushroom linguini was pretty good though, but for $208 I'm not sure if the price fits the dish.
Honestly I will probably never go here again, even though I have gone previously and enjoyed it. It seems the plates get smaller, the prices get bigger, and the staff get ruder every time I visit. There are so many better, tastier and cheaper vegan restaurants in Hong Kong now, that you would be better off skipping this one.
