My partner and I sat down, looking forward to sitting down and having some of the bao’s freshly made, which we have seen before on their online menu. We were surprised to see that the menu only offered 1 single choice of bao while the online delivery menu is offering at least 6 different types. We asked the waiter who replied that on weekends and public holidays the ‘combo sets’ are not available as they get too busy. This made no sense and puzzled us even more as the bao’s are sold as separate

We were surprised to see that the menu only offered 1 single choice of bao while the online delivery menu is offering at least 6 different types. We asked the waiter who replied that on weekends and public holidays the ‘combo sets’ are not available as they get too busy. This made no sense and puzzled us even more as the bao’s are sold as separate items, not in combo sets, and moreover if it’s really about being too busy on WE/PH, then why can any person still order the same bao’s online for home delivery (apparently never ‘too busy’ for online customers?), but not the customers who make the effort to actually go to the venue?!? Why should visiting customers be given second class treatment vs online customers? We even asked if online orders are prepared in the same venue and we were told that they were indeed prepared in the KT venue by the same chef. We kept trying to make sense of this by asking questions to the waiter but he kept repeating the nonsensical line that it was an issue relating to being busy on WE/PH. Nobody raised their voice and we didn’t feel there was any argument , but somehow a customer with self righteous hero complex felt that she should interfere in our conversation with the waiter telling us guys the restaurant makes the rules, even rudely told my partner that he should go. The waiter was incapable of effectively dealing with a simple query, didn’t even bother to check with the chef. Needless to say we didn’t have lunch and we won’t ever be going back.
